Joya del vecindario

Turkuaz takes its name from the turquoise waters of Turkey and the Mediterranean, reflecting a spirit of warmth, depth, and hospitality. For over twenty years, we have offered New York City a refined Turkish and Eastern Mediterranean dining experience—beginning on the Upper West Side and continuing in Midtown West.

Our cuisine is fresh, healthy, and deeply flavorful, showcasing traditional recipes alongside a wide selection of regional specialties. Guests can expect attentive, professional service in a setting designed to feel both elegant and inviting.

Conveniently located near the theater district, Turkuaz is a natural choice for theatergoers, visitors, and locals alike. Whether stopping in for a quick meal, gathering with friends, or enjoying a relaxed evening, the experience is intended to be memorable.

We welcome returning guests to visit us, and invite new guests to discover a restaurant built on consistency, care, and a longstanding reputation in the community.

My daughter and I had a pre-theater lunch prior to the Saturday matinee and had a wonderful meal. The hummus and grape leaves we had were fabulous and the chicken and lamb kabobs with a refreshing lemony salad followed by perfect baklava and Turkish coffee completed a perfect meal. I would definitely return pre- or post-theater.

This is the second time I dined at Turkuaz within 2 1/2 weeks. My first time there - a lunch treat by my son - was very satisfying . The hummus tasted much much better than any of the commercial brands. The grilled branzino was the best ever. The salad & potato that came with it and my son's chicken & "meatballs" ( Can't recall how it is called )?were very flavorful & delectable! I have avoided my fish order simply grilled in many restaurants because it usually comes out bland, as though the fish was grilled straight w/o marinating/spicing it with anything. Service by Miko was very good! Pleasant and efficient. 'Twas my second time around todayI I immediately brought a friend from Austria whom I have not seen in over 2 decades. "Tiger" (Kamal) was excellent! Very warm, friendly, super attentive to our needs w/o being obtrusive. We ordered branzino, hummus & capped the meal with Turkish coffee. Thank you, Tiger & Miko. The food tasted even better because of your A1 service. Keep up the good work! I have to mention that my issue is with Open Table. Why am I not getting any points? I reserved from the email of Open Table to me which sends me regular emails. It said Welcome, Estela. So I did not have to log in. When I was reserving, there was something that said "you will earn 100 points." I emailed Open Table to complain after I reserved. I have not received any reply. It distresses me because aside from really liking Turkuaz, I chose it over another because Turkuaz is participating in Open Table. Terribly upset with OT about this.
