Other temaki (hand roll) spots use a plastic film to keep the nori separate (and therefore remain crunchy) right up until it is time to eat. The nori was on the soggy side by the time the temaki reached our table. Overall taste was good, but attention to detail is what prevented a 4 or 5 star dining experience.

We've tried several temaki restaurants lately and we thought the others were better. The nori got soggy quickly and the flavors didn't really knock our socks off. Not very creative. Also got brussel sprouts and clams. Sprouts were what you'd expect and the clams had a strong sake flavor - which was ok by us, but may surprise people who aren't drinkers. Usually that burns off while cooking, but they must do it on purpose to bring it out more. Overall, wouldn't return.

Everything about this place was quite great! Loved the atmosphere from the moment I walked in, to the friendly servers who were gentle & kind. The food was really fresh and delicious. The price was affordable (compared to where I was visiting from). So overall, I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back again!

The decor and setting was nice inside but the food was off. The flavor profile was either too sweet or vinegary; needs more balance. The karage tasted more like organge chicken.The sushi wraps were ok; soggy seaweed or sauce was congealed as it was sitting out to be served. For the price I would expect a better Japanese food experience.

The spicy scallop hand roll is our favorite. The crab handroll is also great. Sake choices are limited and can use some improvement. Service is great!

The food was ok but on the sugary side. The menu was very limited (a few options for temaki and rolls. No sashimi, no ikura or masago, limited desserts). Most of the fish was chopped instead of in pieces. Probably fine for an unassuming get together but not for a special occasion.

Uminori was so good!! I really enjoyed the yellowtail and scallop hand rolls. I tried a variety and thought the quality was delicious. I like it much better than the other handroll place in pike place. Would recommend!

My favorite was the spicy tuna with crispy rice and the uni. Overall everything was beautifully presented and tasted amazing and I would definitely come again and recommend.

Server was not knowledgeable with drink options. Portions were small and quite pricey. Uni was $18 per hand roll and it was broken bits and pieces of uni (looked old).

Uminori is our new favorite sushi restaurant! We are huge fans of Kisaku (their original sushi spot) and we were so delighted to hear about the opening of Uminori. The staff is so kind and attentive. The food is so amazing, simple yet complex at the same time. The fish at Kisaku and Uminori is always the freshest quality. We’ve been to other hand roll places in Seattle and Uminori is superior in quality and price. The two of us ate to our hearts content and couldn’t fit anymore into our bellies but still only managed to spend $100 for the both of us. You won’t regret coming here :)

Delicious as always. We love the toro tartare with the crunchy nori strips. I still highly recommend the mushroom hand roll or the eggplant hand roll. They are both super tasty as a complement to any of the others. We always finish off with the foie gras with cotton candy and the Panna cotta because why wouldn’t you? The staff is great.

Food was overpriced- for the hand roll experience I would definitely choose an all-bar restaurant next time. The seaweed gets mushy too quickly and they were much smaller than typical hand roll restaurants. It was a good experience- I will not be coming back.

Lot of construction by the restaurant, but plenty of free parking available on residential streets nearby. Almost missed the restaurant because the dark windows made it look like an abandoned storefront, look for the sign above. Ambience inside is on the darker side, quiet, and clean. Customers on a Thursday night were dressy, especially compared to Seattle standards. Place is good for date nights but the place handles families well. The menu is limited so people with limited palettes may be unhappy. Food is tasty, portions for the sushi run smaller but the salad was big. Presentation is nice, and the wait staff is responsive and friendly.

Cute, quaint place with really good food! I had one of the most innovative,unexpected dishes, the smoked hamachi on rice crackers! So delicious…it was our anniversary and the hostess sent this appetizer to us(she also used to be an old co worker of mine so don’t expect her to send you something because it’s a special occasion…she’s an old friend!). We would not have normally ordered this dish but I’m so happy we had it…so delicious! I can’t wait to come back!

Uminori quickly became one of our favorite spots to eat. The staff is great. Great things to try? Need a suggestion: They're all great, but try the mushroom or eggplant handroll for something a bit different but delicious. The cotton candy on fois gras is decadent and delicious. The Brussels sprouts are great and as are the clams with fries. Of the cold dishes, we love the hamachi Thai chili (refreshing), smoked hamachi, and the tartare is great. We tried the tartare for the first time this last week. The nori was perfectly fried (sounds weird but it is delicious with the tartare).
