Our resident ghost, The Baroness de Pontalba haunts Vessel, verified by the "Travel Channel" hit show "The Dead Files" episode "Deadly Vessel". The Baroness, one of the most influential persons in New Orleans, owned our property which was one of her prized possessions. She created the iconic look of New Orleans architecture constructing several buildings which include the first use of cast iron galleries that became the most prominent feature of the city's residential and retail architecture to this day.

Overall it was a great experience! Our server was soooo sweet. Seriously service was a 100% I would say the food lacked a little bit of flavor and seemed a little over priced for what it was. Overall, it was nice and definitely something worth checking out!

Food was great, though a little pricey. Ambiance was a little noisy. My husband ordered a side of carrots not realizing that the meal already came with them. Waiter should have mentioned it. Free crème brûlée for my birthday was lovely.

I’ve lived here 9 years and this was my first time dining here. My friend was in town visiting and I suggested it. We made reservations and showed up to be the only customers right up until dessert! I loved it. Staff was kind, fast and made suggestions. The old church being turned into a restaurant was so beautiful. Food was amazing! I’ve tried scallops here for the 9 years I’ve been here and have YET to find any that compared with Marylands and Delawares; where I grew up…. Until now!! Vessel overcame that! Crab, shrimp, scallops, risotto and crepes were just parts of our delicious meal. Drinks were divine! Bar was beautiful. Music was nice. As the sun set, the inside of the church/restaurant glowed with red lighting. Would highly recommend!

The food and drinks were outstanding. The ambiance was amazing. This was a date night for me and my boyfriend and we loved it. Towards the end one of the servers said out loud “next time bring your credit card” because we paid with Apple Pay (my boyfriend just had his wallet stolen) so it was very rude. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone with servers like that. She was rushing us the whole night, very loud, very ill mannered. Other than the waitress that doesn’t have any couth, this is a very beautiful place, good priced drinks & delicious food. 10/10 experience, 1/10 service.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your boyfriends wallet! I also am sorry to know that a member of my staff did not treat you with more dignity regarding the issue. It is something that will be addressed. Full disclosure, we are not supposed to accept Apple Pay. Only one of our systems is capable of accepting a tap payment and that system is not located in a guest area so we determined that we would take physical cards (preferably with Chips) and cash payments only. I'm glad your overall experience was great, but I assure you the rest of my service staff is exceptional. Should you dine with us again I hope we hit on all 4 cylinders next time!

Ambience and service was good. Cocktails and wine were great. Food was just okay. Lacked seasoning. Sides for the entrees appeared to be cooked way before the steak and scallops. Food def was not in line with the price you pay for it.

From the start, the ambiance of the building was warm & inviting- it’s a very old church. The staff being friendly, personable & accommodating, making sure you were well taken care of. The food was “over the top” delicious, as well as the drinks. Our waiter, Charles was amazing, making point-on suggestions , while being attentive to our every needs. Met the wonderful owners who provided me with the most scrumptious dessert, crème brûlée, for my birthday! Much appreciation to all of you for a most memorable evening! Highly, highly recommend!

This was our second trip to Vessel. The food was excellent. The service was great until it was time for us to leave, and then it was a wait to flag someone down for a check. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit and will return.

Second expierenced here. Always great food and great drinks. Sunday dinner was a nice expierence comapred to the busy brunch. Minimal people and noise. Had an area to ourselves. Love the old church vibes of this place.

Food wasn’t as great as remembered. Smoked fish dip was oily and too mushy compared to so many others we’ve had. Food lacking flavor, ambience was great as always, waffles were great, cheese board minimal but good, frittata was delicious as were the brussel sprouts. Of course we will be back but maybe not for brunch

My seat was positioned such that the setting sun was right in my eyes. So I wore my sunglasses during the meal. The shrimp cakes were delicious. The crepe was exquisite. My wife agreed on the shrimp cakes. She enjoyed the chocolate cake. Thanks and regards, JM

Fantastic environment. A refurbished Luthern Church Beautiful ceiling and stainded glass windows. Customer service was top notch. Prices were moderate Food was fantastic~especially the crab appetizer and spicy chicken entree. We had a party of 30 folks and everyone was super satisfied. Ask for Amandalin Picolo and you'll be taken care of!

I had been to Vessel before when it had first opened like 6 or 7 years ago and loved it. I wrote ahead of time asking about mocktails. Someone quickly responded saying there were 6, not yet on the menu but could be ordered. When I arrived and asked our server, she told me I could have bartender’s choice or make a request, but she didn’t know of any others. I told her someone from Vessel has messaged me about the 6 mocktails not on the menu, and she proceeded to tell me I was wrong and she never heard of that. So I ordered 1 mocktail, bartenders choice, and it was mid. So was the food. Really such a shame because this place used to be one of my favorites and used to have quality food and service back when it first opened. But with the mid food and the poor service, I probably won’t go back.

Hi Kristen, I know we spoke on the phone regarding your review, but I do want to apologize again for the miscommunication that was given to you by a member of our staff the day you dined. We do not currently have a mocktail menu. It has been discussed with some of the bartenders, but not everyone on staff is aware and we certainly do not have a menu of 6 drinks. I think a bartender spoke out of turn to a new host and the information got distorted. I'm terribly sorry again.

Absolutely wonderful. The cathedral theme and original dram of a check pairs for such a fun ambiance. The glass windows and bar are such a visual plus. I ordered the filet mignon and it was cook to a perfect medium rare. My partner and I’s meals came quickly and well seasoned. The servers were quick and attentive. My water was always topped off and the forbidden fruit cocktail was so delicious. It is very close to other attractions and a fun place to bring someone. Would definitely recommend

Beautiful space; calm and moderately upscale ambience; good but not amazing food. Don’t get me wrong; the food is perfectly good — well thought out meals with pretty presentations, and it’s reasonably tasty if you add a little salt, but nothing to write home about. Friendly bartenders.
