The spreads are always a hit, the meatballs and octopus were amazing. We had a lot of laughs and a really good time. Thank you!
Delicious food, good service... maybe a little slow? But not problematic. Really, really good food!
A DC classic. The new outdoor patio is fantastic! Great service. Food as impeccable as always. A request: A gluten-free menu.
The service was subpar. We were told that our table outside was ready but there were no tables available. We just followed the host around for nothing. Just to stand outside and wait some more. RIDICULOUS. We waited 10 minutes and just decided it would be best to sit inside. Our waiter inside was uninterested and didn't seem happy to be there at all. The food was good; however, I would not go to a restaurant for good food and subpar service. Changes need to be made.
Great food, Great value - Eclectic Middle Eastern and Greek cuisine
Excellent food, service, everything! The perfect spot.
The best Mediterranean tapas. Make sure to try the pides.
Horrible service - bread arrived 30 minutes after being seated and 15 minutes after receiving the spreads we had ordered (left with no way to eat them). We had to ask about the whereabouts of bread, cocktails, and drinks numerous times and staff never apologized or made any effort to expedite service. In fact, the table next to us, who sat down 25 minutes after us, received bread, and every course of their meal, before we did! Bummer because this is a great neighborhood spot and the food is lovely.
Waited 10 mins to be seated even with a reservation.
After sitting at the table we waited another 25mins until someone took our order.
Food was good. Pretty authentic!
Amazing as always. A nice selection of delicious plant forward and gluten-free dishes
This used to be my favorite restaurant in dc. The last 4-5 times I have gone, have really disappointed me. The service is bad. The food isn’t what it once was. Sad to see it slip.
Even with a reservation, it took a long time for us to get seated (10+ minutes). Most menu items came out pretty quickly, one item however came out 30+ minutes after the initial entrees, so we barely had anything to eat it with. The server was pleasant, and the food did taste good, though.
We have been to Zaytinya for many years now - one of our favorite places. Our visit yesterday was to celebrate both Father's day and our first meal out since last year since the whole family is fully vaccinated.
We are a vegetarian family and for some reason thought that there used to be a few more vegetarian options on the menu.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Food was delicious, our server was knowledgable and helpful.
We had fun. But you just need to find a solution to the hot weather🤗
We enjoyed a wonderful Father’s Day meal with our extended family. We comfortably sat outside under cover and thankfully had plenty of shade (it was hot outside!). Food was great as always. Service was good but we often had to flag down our server— she seemed to be managing a lot of tables— but she was pleasant nonetheless.
We ate outside, on the patio, in a shaded area, which was lovely. Service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Great dining exon Father’s Day!
I loved he entire experience. I will be going back again
We have been to Zaytinya a couple times before this last evening and each and every experience has been beyond our expectations. That is hard to do since each time our expectations were higher than the last time.
The food is exceptional. We haven't had anything that we wouldn't order again.
The service is attentive and highly professional. The staff knows food, their menu, and how to anticipate a diner's needs.
This must be on your list of truly great dining experiences.
We always love Zaytinia, and our recent dinner was great. We love the Baba Ghanouj, Brussel Sprouts, lamb, pita and beef dishes. It was great.
The food was great, once we got it. It came out quickly, once we ordered, which took almost an hour after we ordered our drinks.
Zaytinya has been one of our favorite DC restaurants for years — delicious food, gracious service and a fun atmosphere! It’s a great place for a group!
Busy place so service was a bit overwhelmed. Still, excellent visit.
Terrific server. Accommodating
We do want more of your former selections. We miss many of them.
Zantinya rarely disappoints. The food choices were good., though the chicken dish had only as meager topping of chicken!
We sat outdoors. While it was great to be able to do that, the tents need to be vented on top to release the heat from the sun. They also trap the noise to the extent that it's difficult to have a conversation without shouting. Still, it is a place that is easily accessible to disabled persons, like my friend who joined us. Finally, the restrooms should be more accessible to diners. Two restrooms in the back, with NO ramp to get to them is inexcusable. I recommend it with reservations but not because of the food.
Zaytinia is my go-t o for brunch. They never disappoint.
Solid meal and they were helpful repositioning the umbrellas as the morning warmed up. Timing on the food was off but the rosé was spot on!
Horrible experience, made a reservation for 8:45 and weren’t seated till 9:10. The hostess walked us over to a table and left us there to figure it out. Food was subpar we got the Lebanese chicken and rice which tasted like airplane food. Do not recommend horrible service for mid quality food
Every dish was delicious, ample, and beautifully presented. The trout and imam bayaldi eggplant dish were knockouts!
Great outdoor seating and quick service! Food was delicious.
I have been going to Zaytinya for years and it has been a destination favorite. Friday night we took some friends from out of town, raving about how good the food would be. In fact, the food was AWFUL. Every dish was cold and soggy; the Lebanese chicken was inedible. When I complained about one dish, the waiter graciously brought a “fresh” replacement, which was hotter but still soggy. I have never seen a restaurant sink so far from its former glory. Jose Andres should not have his name associated with Zaytinya.
Wow what great food! Greek Mediterranean excellence. Staff and atmosphere was great. Did this before a trolley tour and location couldn’t be neat.
We sat outside during the most perfect evening DC can give. Our waiter was really friendly and knowledgeable. I had the octopus and my partner had a kabob. The octopus was excellent, not chewy in the least and the crisp exterior was pleasant. My partner said the kabob was really good and very authentic from his travels abroad. Our desserts were really nice. I highly recommend the apricot and Greek yogurt dessert. Portions were perfect. My partner is 6'4" and, honestly, when the kabob came out, he was concerned it wouldn't be enough food. Once he was done, he said it was the perfect amount. It was his 50th birthday and we could not have had a better time.
Can’t say enough great things about our dining experience! Our waiter Elvis recommended we do the Chef’s tasting menu and it was completely worth it; we got to try everything we wanted on the menu plus a few things we would never have ordered ourselves (the Turkish beef loin and apricot Greek yogurt were outstanding!) Our favorite dishes were the Brussels sprouts and octopus Santorini. The outdoor dining was lovely; we were seated outside by the art installation, and it wasn’t too noisy at all. Can’t wait to come back!
This place was AMAZING! The food was spot on, the service was excellent, and the total experience was well worth every penny!
A very nice restaurant for a post museum visit or for a diner out. Great food and great service.
Patio lovely but service much declined from pre-COVID; took forever to get menus, iced tea not refilled, one dish came about 30 minutes after the others were finished, staff seems oblivious - I understand everyone doing their best and it is a new world, but shortcomings were significant. Menu also much more limited and did not have some of my favorites.
The outdoor seating left much to be desired after 9pm. The city rodents took over the dining area and literally forced us to conclude our celebration early.
We usually love this place. However, the restaurant doesn’t seem ready to open to full capacity yet. Waits were long, (30 minutes past reservation to be seated, fifteen minutes after that to get a glass of water), and they didn’t have enough basics prepared like pita bread to go with hummus, which we waited another thirty minutes for. We weren’t offered anything while we waited, and though the manager said she was going to send something to our table in thanks for our patience when we were finally seated, nothing arrived. Very disappointing experience. We understand that restaurants are eager to reopen after the pandemic and want to be supportive of that by dining out again, but they should be careful not to overextend.
