Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Local workers and residents swear by this branch of Zizzi, and its convenient location in new shopping venue Cardinal Place.

The reservation we had made through Opentable had not been picked up by the restaurant but luckily on a very busy day and time they managed to squeeze 5 of us in! Service was good and speedy - which was fine as we were in a rush and they are very good with allergens.

The starter (arancini) were pleasant enough. Ordered a pizza for main course which was lacklustre and dull by any standard. Service was attentive and friendly which helped but not enough for me to return any time soon.

The sea bream dish I had was unsatisfactory. The fish was dry & the green beans were frizzled. My husband's gluten free pizza was soggy & tasteless. The puddings we ordered were not available! The waiter didn't once check whether the meal was okay! It's a few years since we visited Zizzi. It was lovely then. This visit was very disappointing especially as we were treating a friend that evening after visiting the Queens Gallery.

Eating in Victoria, you are always going to be surrounded by people, but Zizzi's was REALLY busy. However the placement of the tables enabled us to talk to each other, without yelling. We had a very attentive waiter, but we weren't offered the "special 3 course" menu, but with so much to choose from on the main menu this might have been an added complication! We both had "hanging skewers - I had seafood, and my companion had chicken. My only downside was that the salmon lacked flavour, maybe due to under use of seasoning. The puddings were delicious... Overall a good meal at at a reasonable cost

Decent enough meal from a chain restaurant. Not knowing the area and having a fussy wife meant we had few options but overall the setting and service was good. The food was what you’d expect from a chain and decent enough.

Overall food and service were good. However, we initially went to the restaurant as a walk-in, but were abruptly told there were no tables available and that we would have to wait an hour. I quickly went onto Opentable and booked for 10 minutes time. We then just walked in.

Excellent service, excellent food and an excellent experience. We had a range of food and all of us enjoyed our meals. Would definitely visit again
