Third visit! Food is always very good - super fresh, made to order!
However, I thought the service was a bit slow this time. When we decided to order 3 entrees (don’t judge, my husband and I starved ourselves all day to enjoy a dinner date that night, haha!), the waitress said that we might not want to because it wouldn’t fit on our table and suggested we have one to-go. I told her we would figure it out and she seemed very awkward about it. She then suggested that we have the entrees come out at different times to make space on the table. I insisted we would be fine. When the entrees came out, they fit just fine on the table... I’m still confused, haha!
Also, she did not fill my water. I had to ask twice and she didn’t add more ice so it was warm for both refills.
The manager stopped by to ask how our food was and the rest of the staff was very personable and friendly. I will go back but hope to have a different service experience.
This could have been a poor experience but thanks to management and service it turned out well. The restaurant was crowded and table seatings were behind schedule. In the meantime we were at the bar and took a poor recommendation for choice of a bottle of wine and ordered a mediocre pumpkin pasta appetizer. Finally seated, we again relied on the waiter’s recommendation- this time success! Truffle-infused tagliatelle. At the dinner’s end, we were visited by the manager who had learned of our earlier disappointment. She insisted on picking up the check.
This isn’t a story of free dinners. Instead, it’s about an establishment that takes very seriously its function. We will surely return and encourage others todo so.
Great food. Excellent wine the service was outstanding we were seated right at our reservation at 7:45 for a party at 6. Overall an excellent experience.
Authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy dimly lit atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening. Service was excellent and wait staff was knowledgable about the cuisine and wine list. The patio seating was cozy and warm despite the damp, cold evening. An excellent, long tenured restaurant with a good reputation. I would highly recommend.
Exceptional service and food. Only thing we did not like was the music choice. The music Definitely did not go with the old world Italian ambiance. I
Our favorite Italian restaurant and a culinary treat. The squid ink pasta is to die for!!!
Consistant great food with wonderful staff---- try the mushroom ragu and the bolognese
Terrific for family or friend gathering and date night. Love it!
My husband and I eat at this restaurant at least three times a year and it never disappoints. This time I ventured away from my regular order (the fabulous tagliolini with mushroom ragu) and ordered something different - the duck. Bad idea. Having recently enjoyed well prepared duck at a restaurant in another city, I was looking forward to another great meal here. It was not as tender as it could have been and the accompanying lentil dish was pretty tasteless - a big disappointment. My kale salad and my husband’s bolognese were wonderful. The waiter was sympathetic and comped us a nice dessert. We will of course return, but I will stick with their pasta dishes and the menu item that is always fabulous - tagliolini.
This is my favorite go to restaurant in Atlanta. It’s always great food and service is always excellent.
Food was great and the service by Harris was outstanding
La Tavola has been one of my favorite Virginia-Highland restaurants for many years. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, and each seasonal menu is outstanding. The front staff is welcoming and the servers are well-versed on the menu and wine selection. There is valet parking in the rear.
Great food, awesome service, ask for Erica!
We enjoyed another outstanding meal at La Tavola. The rabbit pasta dish and the veal saltimbocca were very tasty and satisfying. We shared a bottle of wine that was reasonably priced and paired well with the entrees. Service from Mary-Cathryn was friendly and professional. There’s always a lot to like at La Tavola so give it a try.
The staff was wonderful! We were there celebrating new jobs and they definitely made us feel special! Can’t wait to go back :)
Consistently excellent food and service.
One of my favorite Atlanta Restaurants
We visited with a large family group including a baby. Seated efficiently, service prompt and pleasant. Food excellent, wine by the glass options all very good. Very happy overall, would return frequently if i lived in the area.
My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary. Fabulous food, great service, good wines, and all for a fair price. This is now our go-to restaurant for special occasions.
Love La Tavola! Harris was on point and the food was stellar, as always. We live in the neighborhood, so we’re a bit spoiled to have this neighborhood gem in close proximity. Bolognese was authentic, and the pasta was über fresh. The Saltemboca was delish, and the Zuppa spectacular. La Tavola....Do it!
The food was very good, and the service was impeccable...attentive without being intrusive. And they know how to make an aperol spritz - although they call it an Angelina - because I'm amazed at how many bartenders screw up a simple drink. This spot has a New York City feel. We'll be back.
Absolutely great food. Our waiter was wonderful and very helpful. We enjoyed every minute of our time here. All the staff was very friendly and took pleasure in seeing us have a perfect experience.
The food was delicious and served very timely as we took our time, enjoying each course.
Great service from Erica. Good food. Crowded space. Difficult to feel relaxed.
This was my second visit to the restaurant. When making this reservation I asked for a romantic table, but we were taken out to the patio where smoke from someone smoking constantly filtered up to our table. Overall this was not the best experience this time. The seasoning for the appetizer then on my main course were both off. The main course was very salty and the manager didn't charge for it since I didn't eat much of it. The waiter was good, and provided a good experience tasting our wine and helping us to ultimately choose the right wine for the food. I Would come back again to give it the benefit of the doubt. The first experience was better being in doors and food the first time was correctly seasoned. Need to make sure they are consistent so want to try it again.
Incredible service and wonderfully unique food along with traditional favorites. Will be back.
Great food and excellent service and pleasant atmosphere
We hadn’t been in years because we’ve been out of state; it’s so good to return to a comfortable place with great food, wine, and people. The staff actually tries to help!!! Great to be back
Great find, authentic Italian food, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. A little loud and cramped.
Had high hopes for La Tavola - unfortunately on the night that we went the music was so loud it kinda ruined the whole experience for us. The meal itself had highs and lows - the Caesar salad was great, my squid ink pasta was good, my friend's bolognese was very good, my other friend who got the red fish special was okay with hers, probably because by the time she got the lemon she requested she had almost finished. Desserts were outstanding - the olive oil cake and the dark chocolate meringue were both out of this world. Hate to harp on the music but we were three friends getting together after not seeing each other for awhile and conversation was impossible. Its a small space with high ceilings and the music just reverberated throughout.
Celebrating my husband’s Bday was so much fun😉
We love Donna!
Our waitress Emma was wonderful! She was attentive and made my birthday special! Not to mention the food was incredible and the wine selection is to die for. I’m already planning my next trip back!
This is a great restaurant with great food and service. Some of the best Italian fare in Atlanta. Monday night they have pasta specials for $10 a plate. Hard to beat!
I'm from New York, where there is no shortage of fine Italian restaurants, and my wife and I thought the food was superb -- my cacio e pepe was among the best I've ever had and that includes Rome.
Ate dinner here recently for second time in 3 weeks. I've been in the neighborhood (or near it) for over 30 years, but these were my first times to eat here. Fantastic meals both times. I had the redfish (daily special) and it was perfectly prepared - crispy pan-seared outside and moist inside. Great flavor. My wife loves the vegetarian cannelloni. Good flavor, texture, and enough for two meals for her. Definitely a place we'll come back to.
Hadn’t been here lately because it is often full when looking for a reservation. It is obvious why, it is an excellent restaurant !!
Have been patronizing here for years never disappoints!
We’ve tried several items off the menu with no disappointment. Food and service is fantastic! Highly recommended to take your special someone for dinner.
Smaller venue, but very well prepared entrees. Friendly servers. Reasonably priced. Great experience.
Limited street parking, but complimentary valet behind the restaurant
Great food, attentive service...felt like being in a small restaurant in Tuscany. Will definitely be back!
