menu was more limited than what was on the online menu. food was OK but not great.
We are long time customers and have dined at TGM many many times. The last few times both the service and the food seemed not as good as usual. I hope they are not spread too thin with so many locations that they've lost their quality control.
Only real complaint is with OpenTable who has it clearly listed as Monday Nov. 5 limited menu due to Ramen Night. We we're excited to try Ramen Night but the waiter hadn't heard of it nor seemed to care. All of that said, the regular menu was good but we were looking forward to the ramen.
Server was away a lot. He seemed to lose interest since we were t drinking.
The veggie plate was.... incredibly small. It was more like an not very tasty appetizer. 3 small piece of cauliflower, eggplant purée was less than a half of a small yogurt cup. And they gave me 4 notes of lentils. Really over rated.
Trout was good. But it was swimming in 3” of butter. Really. Do we need a stick of butter to cook one fish
It wasn’t terrible. But it wasn’t anything I would go want to go back for.
It was my birthday and a friend and I decided to try General Muir for dinner. I saw it was featured on the Food Network and was interested in trying it out. Everything was great (service, food, timeliness of reservation). It is an slightly upscale deli restaurant so be prepared $$ (a la carte). Otherwise, everything was wonderful.
General Muir is fantastic. I've recently discovered this place and keep coming back. Their Sunday brunch is absolutely delicious. They make a mean breakfast during the week as well! My favorite so far, however, has been their Friday night fried chicken dinner with a watermelon salad. Highly, highly recommend this place!
Nice setting with good staff BUT very limited dinner menu. Would stick to breakfast and lunch here, not for dinner.
Love Sunday Night Spaghetti!!
Went for the spaghetti and meatballs and was kinda disappointed. The meatballs were pretty dry and there was hardly any sauce in the bowl. I don't think it's unreasonable to have pretty high expectations when a salad and a small bowl of pasta with meatballs costs $17.
I'll hope for better next time, but i won't order meatballs.
Great food.
I have been to the General Muir for brunch and dinner before. Every visit is wonderful. The food is delicious and the service is grand. I highly recommend the burger stack.
The $17 spaghetti dinner at TGM cannot be beat. I have dreams about their meatballs.
Have been wanting to check out their new Burger Stack since a friend told me about it. Wish I had gone sooner! This definitely rates in the top 5 burgers, almost indistinguishable from Bocado, which I consider the standard bearer. Fries were perfect. My wife had trout, which she loved. Great service, surprisingly not crowded for a Friday night. Will definitely have this on a more regular spot in the rotation!
So. Much. Salt. I could not eat it all. The scallops were find but not great. We the sauce and the beans were inedible.
Did not know from their website that on Sunday and Monday nights, they have 'specials' and that is ALL they serve. I would think they would state this somewhere on their website when stating that Sunday and Monday's are special menus.
We really enjoyed our dinner - the Corned Beef sandwich and the Burger Stack. However, the glasses of wine poured , for $14 each, were skimpy.
As always the food and wine were great. Our
server was knowledgeable and helpful. Big
disappointment to not be able to drink
gin and tonics—-restaurant had no tonic!
Great burger, Reuben and they have the good handcut fries
House salad was big enough to share. And the cheesecake was probably the best I've ever eaten.
This is my favorite place to eat. I come here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Friday night Fried Chicken dinner was so terrific. The chicken was tender and crispy with the thinnest, crackling of a coating and perfectly seasoned. The creamed corn was so fresh and so delicious.
The service is perfect. Everyone working at TGM seems happy to be there which speaks highly of the organization.
Thanks for a great meal!
The burger was outstanding and the poutine fries kicked some butt !
A late afternoon lunch with a friend who claims the General Muir burger to be the best.... it IS the best burger I’ve ever had.... my friend didn’t steer me wrong.
We were in town for a business meeting at our corporate headquarters and wanted something local and not a chain. It was a bit of a drive from the Perimeter, but worth it. Great Reubens and loved the cheesecake.
Sunday night spaghetti and meatballs were a delicious treat. The hamburger was the best we’ve had in Georgia. This is our new favorite place to eat.
Great food, friendly quick service and nice atmosphere
Delicious! Fun location. Very expensive - 2 people, 2 glasses of wine, 1 shared appetizer, 2 entrees = over $125 including tip.
On Sunday they serve a spaghetti and meatball dinner with homemade spaghetti from Boca Lupo. It was excellent, one of the best I’ve ever had. That’s coming from an Italian American who was born and raised in South Philly.
Very good thanks
I took my family to TGM's Sunday Night Spaghetti Dinner for Mother's Day this past weekend and was completely blown away! I've been to TGM for lunch many times before and have loved everything I've ever tried, but this was my first time going to the Sunday dinner. 3 courses for $17(!!!), it included: a small salad, a LARGE bowl of delicious spaghetti with the most melt in your mouth meatballs I've ever come in contact with, a garlic knot, and then to finish it off you get a yummy dessert that changes every week. I haven't been this pleased with a meal in a very long time and absolutely cannot wait to go back!
Loved the food! Great place to go if you are near Emory. Ambiance is relaxed & causal. I ate in the dinning area twice & at the bar twice. Would recommend eating in the dinning area bc the bartenders were rude.
Our meal was amazing! I had the seared trout that was prepared perfectly. My friend had
the reuben (with the works) which he enjoyed (he is from NY). He was very impressed. He also had the rice pudding that was like not other he had ever eaten! Nice atmosphere and
good service. We will return.
Loved our meal and the bar and table service were excellent. Love the variety of choices. We will return and recommend.
Went for a special occasion family dinner. Really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and small large plate selection. My favorite thing to eat was the deviled eggs and rice pudding for dessert. Classics, but unique and delicious!
Fried chicken on friday evenings is the best. The pastry basket is always a hit
Didn't realize Sundays' menu was "Spaghetti Sunday". Meal was good, but unexpected.
Incredible meal. My friends and I ordered many different items of the menu and all of them were superb. I highly recommend this spot.
Deli night on Monday was amazing!
Always consistent food and service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Best burger and reuben in Atlanta. Desserts delicious. We love love this place
Everything was very good but the price is very high for what you get.
It was a Friday night, so busy as usual. We sat outside but the heaters kept the patio comfortable. We ordered the pastrami with chopped liver sandwich and full-on reuben, both of which were outstanding as usual. The sandwiches were large enough that we only ate half of each and left with lunch for the next day. Fries were cooked well and stayed crispy even when they started cooling off. Nothing to keep us from coming back in the future to this great neighborhood gem
A little underwhelmed. Maybe expecting a little more. Service was fine, and food was good, but nothing was exceptional. Would probably give them another try.
Been to GM several times with the last two visits being very mediocre due to poor service. To begin, they should advertise that Sundays have a limited menu with a special Spaghetti/Meatballs 3-course menu with salad and dessert. My party stayed. Not crowded but service was slow. Took over 5 minutes for our server to greet us at our table. Once our order was placed, it was very hard to flag him down for more dressing, silverware, and water, as he poured wine and had conversations at other tables. Delivered cold fries with the corned beef and had to flag down another waiter to ask our waiter to come back to our table. Not very attentive to our needs at all. The food is very delicious but bad service, for me, trumps the food, especially when there are so many great restaurants in Atlanta where one can spend money.
