Have been here several times and every time I have had excellent service. Decided to take friends who were visiting from out of town. Food was excellent but this time it was probably the worst service that I have had in the several times I have dined at this restaurant. Could not figure out who our waiter was and when we did have a waiter take our order he was very rude and short with everyone at our table and this was after having to wait 15 minutes to take our drink order and another 30 minutes after getting our drinks for someone to ask what we wanted to eat. Hopefully this was just a fluke and when we go back the next time our service will be better.

Disappointed in this experience with La Grotta. We waited a while before the waiters acknowledged us at the table after being seated. Then the cocktails took a while. The waiter didn't get over to our table to take out order for a long period. In fact, we didn't see him much at all throughout the evening. We had to ask the owner to get our check. Not sure what was going on this evening, but not the great experience we usually receive at La Grotta.

I already wrote a review of La Grotta but want to know how to reach Open Table. I've made quite a few reservations through them but it shows that I have no points. Can you help me?

Food was good but the service was less than adequate. Also before my reservation I was reminded of their strict dress code only to get to the restaurant and find people wearing shorts and gym shoes. So much for a strict dress code. Separately if you are going to have a dress code the restaurant should not be in the basement of an apartment complex.

This restaurant is truly authentic and has been in business for 40 years. Does that not speak for itself! Wonderful experience.

My wife and I make La Grotta an annual event for our anniversary. Always great service and the food is outstanding. I would place it at or near the top of restaurants in Atlanta.

La Grotta has for years been our destination for special events, especially anniversaries. However, we consider it special any time we are able to go because of its food, service and graceful continental atmosphere.

Hosted a dinner for a family group. We very much enjoyed the food and service, which was attentive and made the dinner more fun. My parents used to dine here 35+ years ago and it was nostalgic for my 91 year old mother, who joined us. Food was traditional Italian, with the addition of black truffles on some of the menu specials.

Forget the fact that it looks like you are going to visit Grandma at the retirement community on first appearance. Once you get beyond that, everything else was excellent. The food was prepared well and with excellent flavor. Attentive and courteous staff made for a great evening.

Best Italian in Atlanta bar none. Start to finish food, service, etc top notch all the way. Request Walter or Billy as your server and you'll have a great evening.

Good not great by any means. Not memorable good or bad. I wish I could say it was better.

The food and service were outstanding. We were visiting Atlanta from Knoxville and this place was recommended by some friends in Tennessee. It was tucked away and from the entrance looked a bit old. When we got off the elevator, it felt very dark and romantic. Then walking into the beautiful dining room and looking out at the terrace, blew our mind. The wine menu was reasonably priced, considering I own a restaurant in Knoxville, Tn. I knew price points. We ordered a beautiful Brunello D Montalcino Luce 2012. But then I asked my server to have Chef prepare something to balance this wonderful Italian wine. The Chef created an amazing Veal that complimented exquisitely! Bulent, our server chatted with us as the dining room began filling up. The desserts were a beautiful display and our entire experience was amazing. Thank you everyone for a wonderful evening. Till Atlanta again, Cheers!

Great waiter, delicious dinner it was perfect for our family celebration. The Torta de cioccolato Rustico was amazing.

Real-deal, authentic Italian restaurant, tucked away in the heart of ATL. The best Italian food outside of NYC. Great service from a tenured staff. Not to be missed.

In my initial reservation I requested a candle and piece of cake since we were celebrating my sons 15th Birthday. It was even confirmed vie a nice telephone call on August 07. Everyone from the staff congratulated my son upon arrival, but I was very disappointed when no one actually bothered to bring the cake nor a candle. I didn’t bother to point it out.

Still a classic! Wonderful food, service and experience. The ambiance may seem to be dated but it matches the authentic vibe.

Amazing food, amazing service!!!

We were regular customers at the La Grotta Ravinia, but had not been to the mother ship ie. the Buckhead location. It did not disappoint, food, atmosphere and service were all very good. Rather small so make advance reservations.

This is our go to place for celebrations.

LaGrotta is the best northern Italian restaurant in Atlanta. The food is always wonderfully prepared and they are happy to prepare things not on the menu. I especially appreciate how they accommodate my onion and garlic allergy. The waitstaff is very experienced and professional. Always a perfect meal.

Everything about our dining experience was outstanding; the food, the wine, the service, the ambience! What a lovely evening in my favorite place with my favorite people. I’ve been a fan of La Grotta since their opening, and I have never been disappointed.

I have dined at LaGrotta 6 times—including this time. We have always enjoyed a great meal there and wanted to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary with another great meal. Unfortunately—things have definitely changed—not for the better. We were greeted initially with “Happy Anniversary “ at the pedestal—but our special occasion was NEVER again mentioned all evening. Disappointed—as we expected for our Waitstaff to at least congratulate us.
The shaved artichoke salad I ordered was extremely bland, and the jumbo shrimp pasta dish was watery.
My husband ordered a veal piccata—which was perfect, but his salad was pretty boring—even though he asked for capers to be added—they were not, and the salad had no taste.
We live in the neighborhood—and were so happy to have a great Italian restaurant to walk to.
After this experience—including extremely slow service—-and inattention——mediocre food.....we won’t go back.
Really sad about this waste of an evening.

Our waiter/server, Tony was awesome, fresh bread/salad, veal was tender and delicious...recommend LaGrotta to anyone!!!
