It had been awhile since by last visit, but it is still as good as ever.
This place needs some serious updating. For the cost of the meal - the place looked/was pretty run down. The crowd was definitely on the older side. The food was your typical overpriced selection for an american steakhouse, a la carte family style sides that needed some updating (seemed plain and very unimpressive). The potato skins and the smoked salmon were good. My filet came out well done and I asked for medium, the next one came out purple - not trying to be picky but for a $59 steak, I expect it to be cooked accurately. Service was good and the wait staff were all nice. They did have free valet which is always convenient in the city. I most likely will not revisit this location, however, I probably will give the one at the casino a chance in the future.
Superb food ! Not an every day restaurant when it comes to cost but perfect for special occasions.
As always the Prime Rib of Baltimore delivered a wonderful dining experience. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. A wonderful evening indeed and their Halloween offering of their signature Prime Rib at a special price was well worth the drive to experience.
Oct 31 was a Special Promotion and a LOT of people took advantage of the price difference. The place was elbow to elbow and the tables were back to back with little room for conversation, unless you wanted to listen to the table behind you. They pour a good drink, eventually, and the prime rib was very good. The piano player is always appreciated for a deco atmosphere...Highly recommend on a "normal" night. It can be romantic and lovely for special occasions.
Service was wonderful but do not like sitting at small tables in crowded dining room
This is the BEST restaurant in Baltimore. It has everything, great food, service & ambiance.
Never been disappointed...
It's always a great experience to dine at the Prime Rib.
Halloween at The Prime Rib was very nice. Not too much out of the ordinary, but a few couples were dressed in tasteful, understated costumes. Just the right touch for The Prime Rib on Halloween. They were running a special for the night: 15oz Prime Rib for $25, which normally sells for $42. Food and drink were delicious as usual, and server Bradley's service was thoughtful and impeccable as always. Looking forward to our next visit soon!
The Prime Rib is always great and consistent. We ordered the prime rib and Chilian sea bass. Both were melt in your mouth delicious. Our waiter, Matt, was very knowledgeable and made the perfect recommendations. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
First time at the Prime Rib and it proved to be an excellent choice. While expensive, you get what you pay for. The ambience, food, and service were perfect. We ate there for a 21st and 50th birthday celebration. Beautiful
Very good food, excellent service. Live music but it was not too loud to converse. Excellent old school dining.
As usual all wonderful food delicious and great drinks
Service, ambiance and food quality extraordinary. Lovely trio playing delightful music beneath the level of interfering with conversation. This is an historic gem in Baltimore.
This restaurant will not disappoint!
This restaurant is a gem. Our waiter Nathan was appropriately attentive and enhanced our wonderful experience. The meals we’re excellently prepared. Would recommend to everyone.
Prime Rib never fails to impress. Our waiter was perfect. The food was delicious. We shared the rack of lamb and it was plenty for two. The grilled artichokes were wonderful. We were celebrating an anniversary and a special piece of pie arrived with a candle for dessert. A great place to celebrate.
One of my favorite places in Baltimore. Great a atmosphere and Prime Rib!
The experience my girlfriend and I had on her birthday was magical. These were her words. We had the best time. The music was nice the food was great and the service was outstanding. I will definitely be back
Lobster was mushy and not good.
Waste of $74.00
Service, food, atmosphere...excellent! I have no complaints about any part of this experience. Everything was 100% top drawer. Money well spent for an extraordinary meal.
Fabulous...as always! Lovely service and terrific food.
Cozy, romantic and delicious food! Piano bar, extra delight!
Birthday celebration. Excellent service, delicious dinner.
Great evening at my favorite steak house. The potato skins are great and the prime rib was tender and so full of flavor
Wonderful dinner...great service. Excellent cut of prime rib. Always A-1
Classic, traditional steak house. Right down to the dark leather furniture and piano at the bar. Same with food - oysters Rockefeller and clams casino are old school dishes, but tasted great. If you want great service and steaks, give it a try.
Excellent worth every dime. Friendly staff. Great food
As usual, the Prime Rib was a special treat. We loved sharing this classic Baltimore scene with out-of-town friends. Always a winner....from potato skins to bread pudding!
Classy old school restaurant with top notch service.
As always we love The Prime Pib we believe it's Baltimore's number one restaurant hands down they really get it they understand it. Brad is a terrific manager he's always welcoming and efficient.
Our service is second to none and our meals are always top-shelf wonderful and exciting.
We love celebrating our birthdays at The Prime Pib
A great meal, very attentive and professional wait staff. We did have to wait at least 20 minutes past our reservation time, however.
Friendly and welcoming with old school sophistication. The maître d' and barkeepers in bow ties. Waiters in jackets and ties. Live jazz. Proper cocktails. We love eating at the bar because we get the privilege of visiting with folks like John, our bartender (and also one of the managers). He’s a native Baltimorean and has worked here for 35 years and treated us like old friends even though it was our fist visit. We’ll be back the next time we are in Baltimore.
We went for our anniversary celebration & prime rib did not disappoint. Our food was outstanding, the service was wonderful. Prime Rib served us a chocolate mousse pie with a candle in honor of our special day!
The food and service are always great!
It was perfect as always
First, there is complimentary valet service at the garage on Chase Street, which is great. It's a bit of a labyrinth to wind through from the garage to the actual restaurant entrance, but once you find your way inside, this is a lovely old-school spot with outstanding fare, great service, and lovely ambiance. The "live music" is actually subtle piano playing, not a raging rock band, so it's a nice backdrop of entertainment that still allows for dinner conversation at normal volume. Our lobster tails with crab imperial were prepared to absolute perfection, easily the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!
Been coming to the Prime Rib for a very long time. It never disappoints. For steak lovers, this restaurant is beyond compare. I truly do not think any steak restaurant comes close. Their seafood offerings are absolutely equal and in most areas surpass the best seafood restaurants in the Baltimore metro area. My husband is a steak/prime rib lover. I, on the other hand, love seafood. The food is a bit pricey, but in the 20 plus years of coming here, it is worth every penny. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
This was our first visit to The Prime Rib. Our server, Bob, was outstanding. He went above and beyond. When he found out that my daughter was a college student and we were visiting, he even wrapped up extra au jus and loaves of their delicious bread and butter that she could take with her leftovers. We will definitely be back!
This was the first time I was visiting Baltimore and a friend highly recommended The Prime Rib in Baltimore. The service was OUTSTANDING! The food was DELICIOUS! The dining room was WONDERFUL and had live music. If I ever go back to Baltimore, I'm dining again at The Prime Rib. It was truly a food-lovers paradise. I've been to many restaurants around the world but The Prime Rib will truly stand out as one of the best!
