Dovetail is my favorite restaurant in Macon. They are great for special occasions or anytime you just want to eat some unique & delicious food. The chef and cooks know what they are doing and they execute everytime. The kitchen staff should probably all get a raise because they are all just so amazingly skilled. The front of house staff are also very talented. They are very knowledgeable about food and bar service. Jade was our server and she took very good care of us as always. I love Dovetail!

Dovetail has an amazing menu and it will not disappoint. Cocktails are creative and refreshing.
The crew is very attentive and helpful with suggested selections and our experience was awesome. Worth the drive and the price ( not terribly expensive either) . Love the ability to reserve a table especially through Open Table. Very accommodating as we had to increase our party at last minute.... no problem!

The main attraction to Dovetail is definitely the food. Its was outstanding! Parking can be tough, it is upstairs (which might be a bit inconvenient for some), it is a small place and the tables are pretty closely packed. Still, the atmosphere was very nice and everything we ate was fantastic. Give it a try!

Everything about Dovetail is noteworthy. The staff, the drinks, the food all right on point. Great flavors, fun conversation, a special night --though I'd be happy to be a regular if we didn't live three hours away.

My wife and I chose to celebrate our 5th Anniversary by dining at Dovetail and were very impressed. Great service, wonder atmosphere, and excellent food and cocktails all at a good price. I recommend Dovetail for anyone looking for a quality, upscale establishment in Macon. We will definitely be back.

Never disappoints! I love how the menu options change from season to season, and the variety of options is fantastic. Definitely get the put-ups as an appetizer - the bacon jam is incredible! Drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts, this place has it all!

After church brunch. Always good. Great service. Had the steak and eggs - both were cooked perfectly. Only complaint is that is so popular that you have to make reservations well in advance and I always forget

Drinks: Secondary Export- excellent taste. Nice sipping drink. My friend had the Ultraviolet, which he stated was average. For appetizer, we had the Put ups- delicious tasting spreads with warm bread. Shared a small plate of scallops with risotto. Great choice. For dinner, I had the Sea Bass and my friend had the tenderloin, which we both enjoyed our meals. Finished with cracked pie and the special fig tart, which we both enjoyed. Great ambiance!! Highly recommend Dovetail.

Nothing against Dovetail....just not my cup of tea. I’m pretty sure I won’t be returning.

We had a reservation and were seated a few minutes early. The waitress did a great job explaining the menu and provided excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a very leisurely lunch and did not feel rushed at all. I can't wait to go back!

I had a resorvation here but arrived late. Even though the kitchen was closing they still sat us and were so awesome with their service. Thank you for such a great meal.

Nice change of pace. I am used to going to Atlanta for date night with the wife. Traffic of course wasn’t bad at all. Which makes this experience even better. Great crew and food

We ( our family of six ) celebrated my 75th birthday there. First time, but not our last. I’d like to try several other things on the menu in the future.

Food was excellent atmosphere great but the Service not so good our waitress was not friendly it took 15 min or longer to find the wine I wanted she brought the wrong kind Kevin you are Outanding Excellent personality Very friendly. I just didn’t think our waitress was up to Speed in that environment...

Before making a reservation for our one night in Macon, I studied the menu knowing that I would never be able to make up my mind. As it turned out, I ordered the special of the day, a bar b que chicken atop a polenta type pancake. The service is very attentive and knowledgeable. If you are into the farm to table thing, you will love this place. I was wondering why we didn’t have farm to table when I was growing up, but realized that every thing was farm to table back then. Anyway, this is a very nice setting of a reasonable size. Parking may be difficult. Be prepared to go around the block looking for a parking place. Our waiter was quite gracious and knowing that we were on a road trip, informed us of other establishments that we might like. This restaurant is as quiet as it gets in America. I’ve conclude that Americans are just loud.
I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening or a special occasion.

Fantastic! We had a wonderfully experience. Everything that was put on the table was delicious. The food was not only beautiful but really good. I appreciated that so much was locally sourced. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and quaint. It was a perfect choice for our anniversary dinner.

Great place and the entire wait staff and GM extremely customer oriented, friendly and there to make your dining experience incredible...and the food is outstanding as well.

I had the catfish which came on a bed of wonderful blue cheese grits with a delicious macque choux and poblano relish. I thought this may well have been the best tasting dish I ever had. My wife had a good but not great burger. We started with the cheese plate which was just right for two people withe 3 cheeses and other accompaniments. The cracked pie for dessert was outstanding. We left very happy and will try to go out of our way to get back to Macon to go here again.

Delicious. Cheese board was a treat. Very interesting mix of flavors in entrees and blueberry cobbler was wonderful. This was our second visit and we will return.

Overall a great restaurant. Excellent food, great bar service, friendly staff. My only “complaint” if I had one was a very small menu. An extra entree or two would have been nice but still, what we had was excellent.

This restaurant came highly recommended, so we were expecting great things and they did not disappoint! Our server was wonderful and every dish we ate was amazing!! We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to everyone we know!

Anniversary

Always a favorite and just gets better. Excellent management and wait staff. Kyley was our server this time and was delightful. We like Jade, too!

We love Dovetail! From the always fresh and interesting vegetable plate, to this week's Chilean Sea Bass, the food and service are always superb!
