Excellent as always! Our favorite place to eat! We totally recommend eating here--great staff, quick and friendly, and delicious food!
Lovely atmosphere with a live violin player on Saturday night. Seafood pasta was excellent, great wine list, good service and not too loud. A great date night place. Make sure you make a reservation as it's a small place and very popular.
The food was ok and the service was very good. The two things that I wasn’t pleased with was the Wine list. It was terrible!!! If you are here to get a nice bottle of wine then you are not at the right place. We sent back 4 bottles!! They were bad and they had such cheap bottles. They were trying to sell a 5.00 bottle for 50.00!!!! Just so disappointing!! Secondly, the violinist was good but talked to much about his personal life. I do t mind table side music but they just need to play and people will tip! We were with a large group talking and I don’t want to talk in depth to the entertainment.
Our parents were in town - so, multiple expectations to meet. :-) Menu was great and ambiance was warm and special but not so fancy to make the super casual dads feel uncomfortable. Interesting and classic options. Something for everyone. I'd love to go again and request one of the romantic 2 tops on the outside balcony.
Went there for our 18th anniversary. Wrote in telling the restaurant the occasion and asked for a “special “ table. We walking in and we’re given no special table and no special anything. The food was wonderful but we were disappointed at the lack of service and no mention whatsoever about the special evening.
Best Italian food in DC! Must sit on the second floor balcony
The food, when served, was delicious. The waiter makes the diner... wait. Promptly seated, we waited 10 minutes for water, 10 more minutes for a single piece of stale bread, and 15 more minutes for an adult beverage. The delicious antipasti was contemptuously placed on the table. The primi ( first course salads) were never brought to the table. The main dishes were good, but the waiter didn’t seem to recognize his error about the first dish. As guests, we politely pointed this misstep out and said we’ll skip primi for a dessert. The waiter offered us complimentary desserts, and 1 of 3 were. The desserts were average. Coffees came after desserts were almost finished. Otherwise no apology from management. This restaurant has great potential. The vibe on 31st Street is exciting. But overall the service quality doesn’t deserve even 1 star. We still gave a good tip. No reason to punish the low morale staff... hope none of it was skimmed by management.
My fiancé and I had dinner here Saturday evening. The restaurant itself was great - it was a nice day out though so I think they attracted a lot of foot traffic from people who were a bit loud and not quite dressed for the occasion. Despite this fact I thoroughly enjoyed my meal; the food and wine were excellent. Our server noticed I was talking to my fiancé about trading seats and moved us to another table that was a bit less drafty - I really appreciated that. We had the crab stuffed portobello, the seafood fettuccine, the tri colored ravioli, and the limoncello cake. All were excellent!
Great food, great service, great experience. Ristorante Piccolo is one of the best spots in Georgetown for Italian cuisine. Perfect for any occasion and will be back soon.
We made a reservation at Ristorante Piccolo while in DC for a wedding, only based upon Open Table
reviews. Had a delicious dinner in a delightful street side table. Food was superb, service prompt, and had a violin serenade to top off a wonderful experience.
Excellent service, meal and value. Highly recommended for the perfect celebration meal.
Food was EXCELLENT and as a person married to an Italian, I'm usually very critical of Italian dishes. Risotto was outstanding, the mushroom ravioli was decadent with fresh truffle oil. Already made plans for another visit!
Had not been to Piccolo for a while, but this visit reminded us why it has long been a favorite. Snared a last-minute reservation to celebrate my Nephew's birthday. Once we avoided the table next to the bar, we were seated in a corner that was less noisy than most of the main dining room. Waiter took a while to get to us, but once he did service and food were first rate. Menu features most of the Italian classics, and the kitchen delivered on all of of them. Good wine list that is not excessively overpriced. Complementary Taramisu for birthday boy was a nice touch.
Food was delicious and the wait staff - very personable and attentive - especiallyour Albanian waiter!
we had a very nice dinner. the service was attentive and helpful. everyone liked their meal. in summary we had a wonderful dinner with friends and I would go there again.
My second time there and I loved it even more this time around. Arrived at 5:45 PM and seating was easily available. Food was delicious. Servers remembered me from my first visit. Sat on the balcony again on a wonderful evening. 2 for 2!
We really enjoyed our evening and thought the quality of the food was very high.
This was an awful dining experience. The tables sit too close together, so you don't have an intimate dining experience, but more like packed like sardins. I ordered to different entrees that were both out and the bartender was EXTREMELY rude. Other Italian restaurants that are good, so don't come here.
Food was mediocre. The back room is so noisy you cannot even have a conversation
The violin player added great ambiance even though there was a large group of loud young ladies in our room too
Returning my daughter back to college
Had a great family meal, awesome waiter...highly recommend!
Thursday night, not very busy. Meal felt rushed and yet service was slow. Food was fine. Nothing special. Nothing came out particularly hot. Upstairs was quiet, good for conversation. Requested outside on open table reservation and it was clearly not noticed or mentioned. We didn’t even bother mentioning it. Watched through the balcony door at the people eating across the street on the sidewalk. Wished we where with them. Over rated tourist trap.
Very well prepared and presented Italian favorites. Staff was helpful on menu items and beverage selection. Consistently good.
This was absolutely wonderful for a lovely Sunday afternoon lunch. The wine was great and the service was attentive without being intrusive. The owner/manager even came over and briefly asked about our day and how we enjoyed the food. I will definitely be going back.
My wife were both in town from Orlando on business, found this place and we were incredibly impressed! Food was great service was great and they gave us this nice table by the window to make for a nice romantic touch
Great restaurant. We had dinner on the balcony. Very beautiful. Only recommendation is to wear insect repellent because the mosquitoes attack on the balcony. Other than that excellent!
The restaurant was superb from every aspect!
Our waiter Hadi was very nice and helped answer our menu questions very eloquently and even gave me great advice on trying the Agnolotti Porcini when I asked what pasta he would recommend. It was delicious and very earthy and had a pop of sage as well.
I tried the other 2 dishes our party had which were also phenomenal! Cappilini pomodoro (which was so flavorful with garlic) and Chicken Milanese (which was so crispy and had a lot of chicken meat as opposed to other restaurants who serve it super thin and dry).
The gentleman playing the violin in front of us was an extra bonus to the feel of the restaurant. So spectacular!
Definitely coming back and hoping to sit outside one day on the balcony!
Fabulous find! Excellent food, ambiance and service. The traveling Violinist was the cherry on top!!
This was our 1st time to the restaurant & was surprised how quaint & fun it was. We were seated in the back of the restaurant so we had good people watching seats. It was a bustling, lively crowd & the food was terrific. All the waiters were timely with bread, water & the delicious food. Will definitely be back.
Great local spot for delicious Italian food at an extremely reasonable price. Would highly recommend!
Can’t wait to come back again
Service was excellent from the beginning. Greeted at the door by management. One opened the door for me, welcomed me to the restaurant, and personally walked me to the hostess. I had a reservation, and although I was 30 minutes late, it took longer than anticipated to walk there from the metro, I was promptly seated. The wait staff were all polite and courteous. Appetizer arrived promptly after ordering and was hot. I had informed the waiter that we didn't have a lot of time because we had a show to catch at the Georgetown theater. Our main course didn't take long to prepare, was hot on arrival, a and was fantastic. I had the seafood spaghetti with marinara sauce, my sister had ravioli with green sauce. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I had 2 glasses of white wine and my sister be had the pineapple mojito, which she says is better at Cuba Libre. All in all great experience. I recommend and will return myself
Great restaurant in Georgetown with awesome food, great service and very kid friendly. Mehdi was an awesome server and made the experience even better. Water glasses were always filled, very generous with bread, great food recommendations, friendly staff, solid beer and wine list, and the fresh pasta is some of the best we’ve had. Highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty meal!!!
Restaurant is very good but they were closed tonight unexpectedly
This restaurant serves wonderful Italian food. My husband ordered the tortellini and ate every bit of it. My chicken Marsala was very tasty. Dessert (chocolate mousse cake) was the perfect size and was delicious. And the service was very good. It was a short Uber ride from a White House area hotel.
Creative and healthy food. Excellent gluten free options.
I made the reservation for Saturday @ 10:15pm and not for 9:30pm as they said; the restaurant changed the time because they wanted to close early. They also lied saying kitchen closes @ 10:30pm; not true. Internet lists it as post theater, late dining, closing at 11:00pm on Saturday. We arrived @10:20pm, the waiters were rude, said there was no reservation. I even showed them my e-mail confirmation from Open Table stating that my reservation was made for 10:15pm
The dinner was excellent, the Tiramusu was the best I have had.
