We are new to DC and had spotted the restaurant during a recent visit to Georgetown. The exterior looked inviting, featuring a balcony with a couple cafe tables. I took my wife there for her 50th birthday and we had a wonderful evening. The rustic Italian cuisine is delicious, featuring house-made pasta. I had the veal scallopini, with a small side of spaghetti and meatballs and my wife ordered the gnocchi. All were delicious - especially the spaghetti, where the noodles perfectly al dente and tomato sauce was light and didn't overpower the dish. For dessert we had tiramisu and it was incredible...the star of the evening. After each bite, my wife and I would look at each other in awe of what we were tasting. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly and interior was perfect for our romantic evening (we sat near the fireplace). Finally, the price was very reasonable with entrees ranging from $25-$35 (which is on the lower end for similar Georgetown places). I would highly recommend you visit.
The restaurant was so accommodating. As it’s a smaller family owned business, the chef accommodated my vegetarian preferences and varied tastes by sending out a plate of various pastas to try.
Service was phenomenal, wine was superb.
And all for a very reasonable price.
Definitely check out this intimate venue the next time you’re in DC, I know I definitely will.
We had the Eggplant Parm, Grilled Salmon with Lemon, Butter, Caper Sauce, and Tiramisu. The Eggplant Parmesan needed more seasoning or herbs. The Salmon was perfectly grilled and the spinach that came with it was amazing. The Tiramisu was light and delicious!
Great service, great food 👍🏼
Everything we had was amazing!
It's a hit or miss, the restaurant down the street Angolo is definitely way more tasty, & Authentic. The atmosphere is great here for a date but I don't recommend the food..
Sat outside on a mild Friday night. Service was fabulous and food was delicious as always. A lovely date night!!
Food was amazing but for the price meh....because of the portion.
Very busy Valentines Day slowed service. Food was excellent.
My boyfriend and I went for their Valentine’s Day dinner and it was an experience! The service was outstanding and the ambiance was perfectly romantic. Everyone one of my seafood preparations was done just right. My one critique was that my boyfriend ordered steak (medium) and it came out beyond rare! However by then we were already 2 1/2 delicious and well-sized courses in, so we ended up taking both of our entrees to-go so that we could have room for dessert (which was again- amazing). Worth it for a romantic date night.
My boyfriend and I always went here for our Valentine’s Day dinner. We used to live in DC but now live a few hours away. We had to travel to our favorite place for dinner! It was outstanding as usual
Visiting for Georgetown’s senior parents wekwnd
Cozy, intimate with great food!
Excellent food and top notch service. Will definitely be back!!
My companion was delayed but the staff was so pleasant and accommodating. It was my birthday and Piccolo is one of my favorite places. Food is fabulous as expected!
Outstanding service and treat food. Try the veal!
We had a wonderful dinner and the food and service were outstanding as always
Lived in DC for 20+ years and just discovered this place. Chef/owner made his way around to tables, very friendly and welcoming. Food was VERY good, although wines by the glass not great. I would highly recommend this place to a local, and certainly to an out-of-towner. Will most definitely return for another great dinner here.
We just loved this restaurant. Wonderful décor, excellent hospitality, cozy, and superb food! What a gem. We went early on a Saturday night and split a great Caesar Salad (which Piccolo nicely brought on 2 plates). For main dishes we tried 2 of the evening's specials: Lobster Capellini, and a Fish Duo (salmon and rockfish). Both were amazing!! Portions were large, and we didn't leave any room for desserts, although the night's offerings were tempting! We had a glass of very good Valpolicella, and one of Sangiovese. We initially thought they were priced a little high, until we saw that they were quite generous pours. There was also a Strolling Violin Player (on Fri. & Sat.) Well, he didn't actually "stroll" because tables are close and the servers & patrons needed the aisles. But he was a good musician and fun. We sat downstairs in the large dining room. There's a smaller dining room as you enter Piccolo's, and another delightful room with a fireplace upstairs. On a cold Sat. night in January that room was packed. Somehow the outdoor balcony and sidewalk patio tables were empty.... This restaurant has been great for over 30 years (the building is reportedly 300 years old), so I guess they're doing most everything right! A nice surprise: the owner checked in on us and brought us complimentary Sambucas after dinner. We'll definitely return!!
Great location for a nice Friday night dinner.
Ristorante Piccolo is an amazing little Italian restaurant in Georgetown, DC. I highly recommend it. It has a family atmosphere and the staff are all very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. I would definitely return.
The food and service was really great. I would definitely go back.
Enjoyed our first visit immensely! Great location. Reminds of Boston North end...my home. Keep doing what you are doing. Thanks!
Service was friendly and warm and fresh pasta was delicious. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in DC.
Wonderful welcome from a very attentive head of house and waiter. Seated near cozy fireplace and enjoyed delicious pasta, muscles and salads. Wonderful selection of wines.
Wonder dinner. We had an early dinner and since we were the first ones there we had the whole place to ourselves. They treated us like royalty, some of the best service I have ever had. Very personable. Wonderful date spot!
incredible. incredible staff, service, the genius gorge at the bar or chafik making sure your every wish is addressed... this is a lovely, homey place that your grandmama would like..... so...give these beautiful men a chance....
We absolutely loved dining at Ristorante Piccolo. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely. We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary there and look forward to going back soon.
From the waiter's detailed recitation of the menu (well beyond daily specials) through attentive timing and delivery of authentic Italian cuisine in a classy but subdued dining room - exactly what we were seeking for three generations of Italian-American cuisine.
Great food and service. However, it was HOT in there.
Outstanding, expansive menu with lots of options for all tastes. Lovely environment and a great location.
Piccolo remains a very good, and very reliable, place to dine. In this case, we ordered a total of five starters and two entrees for four people and it was all terrific. The veal chop (huge) was perfectly cooked (medium). The starters were excellent as well. Will return soon.
We went for New Years Eve, and maybe it's not fair to judge any restaurant on a night like that, but I was really disappointed by the food.
It was a fixed menu with decent choices. Unfortunately, the Burrata that I chose tasted like gasoline, and while waiting at the bar for our table we could see the deserts being plated straight out of cardboard boxes. The tiramisu was mediocre at best.
The atmosphere was great and the servers were charming, I just wish the food had kept up.
Paid for a New Year’s Eve dinner, food was mediocre at best, ran out of food options that were promised on the menu for a special New Year’s Eve menu, took over an hour to get appetizer half an hour for our waiter to come back after introducing himself about to same time to get some bread. Server was almost never there the only decent thing about this restaurant is that the managers could get things done in a timely fashion but besides that horrible restaurant.
Resturant was decent. Came for NYE and they had a fixed menu, one of the two options for a starter was out and it was only 9 pm. If you’re offering a fixed menu , it’s important to make sure you have the supply. They tried to make up for it by providing an extra dessert which was nice, but the service overall was not the best. The food was decent.
Food was ok. Service slow. Main course was poor. I did not think that it was a good experience overall
Visiting Georgetown for the first time and selected Ristorante Piccolo for our New Year's dinner - 7 in our party. We were not disappointed! Wonderful food, wine and attention to our group on a very busy evening. Thanks!
It was a wonderful way to ring in the new year. The food was delicious, atmosphere excellent. Absolutely loved the Tiramisu.
The New Year's Eve fixed price menu waa superb along with the seasonal decor, attentive staff, strolling violinist, and utterly delicious food!
