The William Morris floor to ceiling stained glass windows set the tone.... it's glamourous, comfortable and every detail has been considered. Roo's Leap is a family-run restaurant housed in the former Albert Clubhouse, built in 1901, offering wonderful views over the world's fifth-oldest golf course.
Since 1984, we have provided warm, attentive service in a relaxed, welcoming setting, ideal for families, golfers, & visitors. We are committed to serving honest, high-quality food prepared with genuine care.
Our beef & pork is sourced from Yorkes of Dundee, with premium cuts aged for a minimum of 35 days in a Himalayan salt chamber. We cook over charcoal in our Josper oven, slow-cook select cuts for exceptional tenderness, & hand-press our burgers using grass-fed beef. Our Koffmann fries are cooked in beef dripping.
We source British chicken, free-range eggs from Tillygloom Farm, fresh fish from Blue Flag in Peterhead, & seasonal vegetables from Turriffs. All sauces & dressings are made in-house. Desserts feature Italian gelato from Giacopazzi’s, local Angus berries, & Jersey dairy soft serve.

We're an independent restaurant and café tucked beside the McManus Museum on Albert Square in Dundee. We're run by two Kiwis and we take our name from the Kiwi tradition of the "bach" — a humble holiday home where friends and whanau gather to unwind, eat well, and lose track of time.

Brunch is at the core of what we do — for 10 years now. And today, we cook over fire (kanaku) because it's what we grew up doing and it makes everything taste better. We cook what we love — food from everywhere we've lived, travelled and eaten. There's no single cuisine here, just the stuff that's made us happy over the years. We pour good beer because life's too short for bad ones. And we don't care what you're wearing. Whether you come for brunch at nine, brunch at one or fire at two, we've got you covered.
