Seven Quarts Tavern
We have been to Seven Quarts a few times, but will never be back after this experience. We were seated at 6:45 and weren’t served our meal until nearly 8:45. Our waitress, while sweet, was entirely overwhelmed and overworked. It took nearly 30 minutes to receive our drinks after ordering them. When we finally did get our food, my mom’s burger was missing the sauce and cheese she had ordered on it. Both burgers were well done despite being ordered as medium rare. In addition to that, the bun was burnt. The table next to us was also missing the cheese on their burger. When they pointed it out, the waitress brought a piece of cold American cheese on a small plate. When we received our check, we were charged for an appetizer that we never got. I’m not sure if this was an off night but it was enough to leave a lasting impression for us and the tables surrounding us. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
I had the salmon and it was not good. My husband had the chicken sandwich and the chicken was tough. My friend sent her salad back because there were brown lettuce leaves.
- The short rib dip was bland.
- I was looking for a specific kind of beer and asked the waitress to ask the bartender what he had that was comparable. She instead rattled off beers nothing like what I wanted and wouldn't go downstairs to talk to the bartender. I ended up with seltzer.
- Overall, a very underwhelming place.
Delicious food, great selection of drinks, friendly staff and wonderful ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
The meal was awesome and the service was great!
Best food, amazing drinks and wonderful atmosphere
Had 730 reservations, and was seated at 7:35.
Took 45 minutes to get Appetizers
Dinner was finally server around 9:00pm after the waitress said the kitchen forgot to cook the order.
When we got the bill we asked to speak to the manager , he showed up 10 minutes later after we asked twice to speak to him.
The manager Mark was rude and very unapologetic saying it’s Saturday aight. Then he even more so rudely tried to justify it by saying the ticket for dinner was only put in 37 minutes prior to when we were served. This was either a down right lie, or the waitress put the ticket in well after we actually ordered.
We had friends who had 830 reservations who were served dinner before us.
Manager wouldn’t even buy a round of drinks to make up for it.
We Have frequented this place quite a few times , now they have lost around 10 customers due to the lack of service. All he had to do was apologize. But rather basically called us liars. Us and The folks we frequent with while dining out are not out to get a discounted meal or free drinks; but when service is justifiable horrendous and the manager in charge is not only unapologetic but down right rude it should be made right.
Great place! Fantastic drinks and great food. Incredible place for brunch, lunch or dinner!
Horrible service and food. The restaurant was freezing.
We had an overall positive experience at 7 quarts tavern. Good food and friendly service.
My only issue was the cost of the food vs what you get. $32 for a braised short rib is over priced considering the plate was mostly Brussels Sprouts. For this reason we will not go back.
Overall experience was fine. We had the entire upstairs dining room to ourselves throughout the meal. The server was very busy coming up and down the stairs but she was pleasant nonetheless.
Our party of six ordered 6 different entrees, each very good. I shared ribs with my wife as our appetizer and thought they were delicious.
Went for New Year’s Eve. It was a price fix menu. The food was delicious
We had a great dinner with friends. Loved their food selection. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Slightly expensive. Great food. Unique drinks. Great service.
Had a prefix menu with very very very limited choices. Made a reservation but sat right by the front door with only a space heater to keep warm. Also people in our group are allergenic to seafood and others don’t eat meat. Went years past and loved it but not this year. Spending a good amount of money so should be able to choose a regular menu
The food was great, the second floor was not too loud. But the service was awful. We barely saw our waiter and were a party of three and were there for almost two hours.
Food and Service were good. Markup on wine was quite a bit. Paying $50 for a bottle that can be had from a liquor store for $15-20 was alot. Other than that, all good.
Food was very good and service was solid. The upstairs noise level is very difficult to enjoy the meal. Tables were tight and hence crossing conversations of other tables or the wait staff
Always enjoy 7Qts.
A reliable go-to casual restaurant. The second floor is a small and fairly quiet dining room that we prefer because, well, we can hear each other. The first floor is bar/sports bar/live music with a few dining booths and can be quite loud. Food is well prepared and shows creativity in the kitchen. Service is good.
We were upstairs which was nice and quiet until a large group was seated toward the end of our dinner. The group was very loud but fortunately we were almost done. We elected not to have dessert. The food was very good except the Brussels sprouts were too under done. We will try again.
Our waitress was amazing - one of party has serious health issues and wasn't eating much, and our waitress went out of her way to find alternative light options that were not on the menu. Food was very good. We will be back!
Service was very slow and once the food arrived an hour after we ordered it, it was served lukewarm without apology. We were left alone for the first half hour after placing the food order and I had to hunt down some bread so we wouldn’t starve to death before the meal finally arrived.
I am very sorry you had a poor experience in our restaurant. You and several other parties had a much longer than acceptable wait as we were caught very understaffed on a Saturday - both in our kitchen and with servers. We have taken steps to correct our scheduling and promise a better experience in the future.
I wasn't happy with my food and the service was slow. There were many people complaining that night . Not sure if it was unusual or always that way but seemed disorganized.
A picturesque restaurant setting.
We had to hike up stairs.
The Room was a little noisy.
The food was OK but it was extremely salty.
The food is very good but they need more wait staff especially busboys. Given that the waitresses have to go up and down the stairs for everything they need more hands... Specials should be written down as well as the best selections. We sat for long periods of time without see I g our waitress. The owner brought up our dinner and eventually he was bussing tables. He actually sat down to bus the table next to us at one point which I thought was pretty rude. Spraying and wiping the table while we ate. Think we will be trying some place new unfortunate
I am very sorry we didn't deliver an excellent experience for you. We were very understaffed the Saturday you visited and should have held some tables back from seating. I hope you give us another chance.
Service was very prompt. Food was fabulous. The ribs were amazing. Would definitely recommend.
I am so happy to hear you had a wonderful experience! Thank you for the kind words.
This was our first time eating here and the food specials were delicious! Our waitress was a lot of fun and experienced. Definitely plan on returning!
Really love the place. It gets very busy on holidays.
Thank you very much for the kind words. We are so happy you love our bar & restaurant!
Truly a memorable evening at Seven Quarts Tavern. At the restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We knew little except through reviews. The food was stellar, an exciting atmosphere and service on a busy Saturday night was impeccable. My wife says it was the most standout birthday dinner she can remember in a while. Would highly recommend!! Thank You staff.
Thank you so much for this outstanding review. It is so rewarding to find out that we made someone's special day.
This was our 2nd visit to 7 Quarts Tavern within the same week! We enjoyed everything so much, we couldn’t wait to go back! From our drinks to dessert, everything was excellent. Our margaritas were perfect and just hit the spot. We ordered small plates and enjoyed a variety of foods. The Mediterranean hummus platter was generous and delicious! The Chicken Lettuce Wraps are the best around, the Pulled Pork Tacos, yum! so flavorful! The Mac and Cheese is for adults, and is great plain with toasted breadcrumbs, or as a daily special with other delicious morsels added in. The Mussels were excellent, as were the Chicken Wings. The Filet Mignon tips were soft and full of flavor. Dessert was Toasted Coconut Creme Brûlée- what else can I say? Oh yeah, HappyHour was till 7 on a weekday, and many of the small plates were on the happy hour menu at a reduced price.
The atmosphere is nice, with a bar and eating area downstairs, and a dining room upstairs. Staff are very friendly and helpful. 7 Quarts Tavern is one of the best new additions to the Northport area. Food is fresh and new and full of flavor. Excellent quality! I highly recommend 7 QuartsTavern for great food and drink in a fun and friendly environment.
Thank you very much for this wonderful review! We are very happy that you had such an awesome experience and that you can't wait to come visit us. Be sure to keep up with our Facebook page, as we organize many fun events such as the next Harbor Head Beer Dinner Pairing on August 18th! Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Great pub food. Live music some nights. Very friendly staff. Excellent value!
Thank you very much Doug! We have live music every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Be sure to check out our music schedule on our facebook!
Everyone’s food was excellent. Enjoyed the mimosas for the table!
What a disappointment. We’ve been meaning to try this place for years. We finally went late on a summer evening. Although it was nearly empty, we were seated in a musty, hot corner. On a trip to the much more appealing second level to use the restroom I noticed the AC was set at 76 degrees. No wonder it was hot and buggy. Our waitress was well intentioned but seemed to know we were going to be saddened by our overly expensive, overly salty food. Deviled eggs overpowered with yellow curry powder and stinging with salt. Rubbery duck, beef tips in a gravy master soup. A sweaty creme brûlée. We eat out in the area a lot, so we know what the possibilities are for the price and location. We won’t be back.
I would like to first say that I am sorry you did not have a great experience. That said, we do not have any AC units set to 76. Our Deviled eggs have no curry powder nor do we add salt. We do not have beef tips on our menu, and our local, organic duck has never been described as rubbery. As a 95% fresh kitchen, our prices are quite low. At Seven Quarts we focus flavors, textures, and uniqueness in our food. Sometimes our food is not the right fit for every diner.
We were a little disappointed to find the menu quite different from the online menu which listed a raw bar and more seafood options . We managed to pick a mussels hotpot appetizer to share at happy hour price and a salmon and a shrimp entree at reasonable prices. The swordfish stuffed with crab meat special sounded very good but not for $42. Our waitress was very attentive and was sure to bring us each a second drink while it was still happy hour.
I apologize you found an outdated menu online. Please follow us on facebook or our own website to find our current menus.
Great brunch menu! Pre meal before 2:00 Engelman Theater show
Swordfish, meatball, crab cake and black bean burger all delicious! Cocktails exceptional! Our server, Cassie, was great - The atmosphere is charming and not too noisy.
We were presented with a surprise dessert from the owner to celebrate the birthday of a member of our party. We will definitely be back!
Had a reservation for 10am Sunday Brunch. There was only one table sitting when we arrived and we waited till after 11am to be served. Unfortunately, we found a long black hair in two of our entrees and we were turned off to say the least.
Found this gem of a restaurant in our local town. Great-exceptional food, really good service and a very quant ambiance.
All around concerns with :Service being very slow, bread was served late, staff were heard cursing during conversation at the bar, no napkin for one of us, burger was not cooked as ordered with both served as well done. Cauliflower appetizer was excellent though !
Owner was present and should have been involved and able to identify all of the above while charging $20 for a burger that was average at best. Very disappointing meal, and was here last year which was a nice meal then.
