Simpson's In The Strand
Thoroughly enjoyable food and service excellent..will come again
We arrived early but were shown straight to our table. The recorded music was distracting as it kept changing styles and was rather loud! One friend wanted bread other than sourdough which soon arrived. The steak pie was delicious with lovely puff pastry and lots of meat. We had no problem arranging for 3 separate bills. A pleasant meal. The wine was rather expensive,a fault in many restaurants!
Incredible service. Sam was delightful as were they all
Old world charm with excellent service. We decided to go all out and order the meat carving station. The food is excellent the wine list is tremendous and the service is very good. A bit pricing but you’re paying for ambiance an era gone by.
We were at Simpson’s for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We had cocktails in the upstairs bar, before going into the restaurant. The service was exemplary and the food wonderful. Thank you!
From being met at the door until we departed all was as I knew and expected it would be. My first visit at Simpson’s was in 1962 and am as impressed now as I was then.
I have been going to Simpson’s fo 30 years and in my view has lost wow factor
Welcome non existent service poor very little interaction. Finally which is sad no chefs in whites carving
However beef still outstanding and will be back
Delicious food; excellent service; great atmosphere
Was a wonderful experience service is friendly and professional. You could feel the history and traditions in the air of what upon a time everything was. The good old days. I believe this historical restaurant is part of the Savoy hotel. Roast beef served with gravy, Yorkshire pudding etc. absolutely fantastic!!
Simpson’s offers a unique experience
Perfect all along ! Service was great, very good selection of wines (I’m French), and our dishes were beyond delicious. I recommend this address
I was expecting much more from this famous restaurant in London.
The service is poor, I waited more than 40 mins for two main courses and they charged me for two drinks which I never order.
Also the food was not very good for the value.
No the perfect date dinner for me.
Superb food. The roast beef from the trolley is 'to die for'.
Had a valentines late lunch. Food and service were excellent, but a shame that nothing was done as a “gesture” for Valentine’s Day? Expensive lunch, but worth it as a treat.
As every year I come, this year has been fantastic, as usual!!!
English dining in style. Lovely atmosphere, great history.
There are certain things one needs in life...Simpson's is one of them.
This was a great traditional restaurant with well prepared main courses and starters and attentive service. Lobster bisque soup was delicious, and steak and kidney pie excellent with tasty beef gravy. And the wine selection gave opportunity to try a glass of good Rioja by way of accompaniment. Another time it will be interesting to see what the restaurant offers for dessert.
Our first visit to Simpsons's In The Strand. This was to celebrate our 48th Wedding anniversary. A perfect choice. A peaceful dinner of excellent food with friendly service and a quiet and calm atmosphere. We intend to return in the future.
Simpson's is special - classy, elegant, historic and utterly delicious. I'm used to great food, I live in France, but this place is something else. The decor is wonderful, the service is superb, the dishes are exquisite. I travelled over from France for the day to celebrate my anniversary with my husband with lunch here - well worth the effort.
Magnificent! The staff work so hard to offer a relaxed dining experience, and their efforts are very much appreciated. Pre-meal drinks upstairs were a great start, returning back to the ground floor to be introduced to the wonderful dining room made us smile with anticipation. Crab starter was superb. Mains from the silver trolly divine.
Our server Sam was the best, super friendly. The sommelier recommendation a great wine. Would go back again
As usual with Simpson’s the staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is tasty. I have eaten at this venue on several occasions and it does not matter what I choose from the menu it never really disappoints.
EXCELLENT FOOD BEAUTIFULLY COOKED AND SERVED IN A RELAXING ATMOSPHERE. THE STAFF HERE ARE MOST ATTENTIVE TO YOUR NEEDS.
Always a special treat.
Knowledgeable and friendly service from the whole team. Our waiter was TeTe who was great and made it a memorable experience. We'll be back!
Lovely restaurant and staff ambiance was great, food was lovely but the only thing letting it down was the plates they was cold which was a shame as the food got cold quickly.
If they had been hot it would have been 5star all the way, a little thing like hot places made a big difference and keeps the food hot
5 star experience! Food, ambience, service....could not have been any better! Thank you Simpsons.....we’ll definitely be back.
An outstanding lunch. Our party of eight met upstairs at the bar to begin this eventful lunch to celebrate Dad's 90th birthday. From the beginning we were looked after by Aristotle, nothing was too much trouble. He followed us to our table downstairs and was our sommelier. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and assisted with our many questions. They also provided information regarding the history of the dining room, which is spectacular. We eventually all chose the Carving Trolley Beef option, with additional cauliflower cheese, spinach and the pea/carrot mix. The beef was cooked perfectly, medium rare and melted in your mouth! Extra gravy was provided immediately on request. An excellent choice, which we recommend.
Birthday treat meal. Good food - not pretentious and with sensible portion sizes. Enjoyed the setting. Friendly, attentive service without being overbearing. Enjoyed the experience and will go again.
The rib of beef was outstanding. Excellent service.
This is my favorite traditional English restaurant in London. All the dishes I’ve tried are outstanding. Beef Wellington is cooked perfectly, roast beef and Sussex ham (both served from the trolley) are excellent. Sublime Yorkshire pudding! I’ve just tried the Ice cream with chocolate sauce and the baked Alaska and they were delicious.
Staff is attentive and very professional. Last night the Chef came to the tables to greet customers and have a quick chat about the food. So kind of him.
Highly recommended for those who want the best!
Helpful and caring service. We are really satisfied with all.
We had an amazing anniversary meal! Would deffo recommend it
An delightful evening of excellent food and wine - wonderfully served. Grateful thanks to all at Simpson’s in the Strand.
Absolutely fantastic. The roast beef was great, and the atmosphere there was truly amazing. The staffs were friendly and enjoyed our time there.
First ever visit as a birthday treat for my wife and it did not disappoint. Our waiter Sam was genuinely attentive and helpful and the ambience, the roast beef and the wine was excellent. Will have no hesitation in booking again for that special occasion or simply when we feel we deserve a treat.
From entering the building to leaving we treated like kings and the food was excellent .
The staff are nice and professional, serving in good manner. All food are great especially the beef , though the breads are not attractive. The decoration of the restaurant is classy and gorgeous. However, we have six people for lunch but there are not enough space for us to sit, we need to sit very close to each other and the chairs not comfortable at all.
