My family and I are always in awe of the staff at Stella Barre. We will continue to come back because the staff are so personable.
Our server was okay. She seemed distracted or hurried.
It took at least 7 min to be acknowledge by the waitress. The food wasn’t that great. They ran out of things and took a while to refill. People in the back (workers) were arguing. I noticed a lot of people complained about their food and the waitress kept having to give them a gift card because they weren’t happy. I came for my moms birthday. Wasn’t what I expected
For a restaurant that primarily serves pizza, the pizza was just bad, the sauce tasted like it came out of a can, acidic with no flavor. We also ordered the calamari, which was bland and not properly seasoned or cooked.
We came here to eat dinner, so I can honestly say that this was very disappointing experience. On a positive note - the ambiance was fun and I could see how one would enjoy coming for drinks, but stay away from the food.
Had such a great experience -- we needed to modify our reservation twice, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Our food was great, and our waiter was perfect -- gave us exactly what we needed when we needed it without be intrusive.
Service was good until it got busy. Way too dark to see the menus. Parking around Pike & Rose is not very good. But the pizza was good.
Good food, even better service
Really good pizza, nice wine selection , great Happy Hour specials.
Great but the restaurant was very dark
Really good pizza. The gluten free option was shockingly good. We were there on a Tuesday and got the table with a couch which was very cozy on a date. Wait staff were very helpful and responsive
Very nice ambiance and great pizza. The only thing is the when asked if the juice was natural, waiter said yes, but no, juices were not natural. Perhaps if he is not sure, he should ask somebody else about it
Went to their weekend brunch on Bethesda restaurant week. Really terrific; nice different spins on brunch classics.
The pizza was terrific when the restaurant first opened. This time service was slow, although the restaurant was not full. And my husband's pizza arrived cold and he said it was just okay. Mine was good but we likely will not be back any time soon.
I want to like this place so badly. Their sister restaurant next door is SO good, but Stella is overpriced, meh pizza. The calamari was good and their tomato sauce is pretty good too. Both pizzas we got, however, were greasy. The thin crust was so thin with so few toppings that it amounted to an $18 cracker with tomato sauce. The salumi was good for the first few bites but we both felt that heavy belly feeling after just a few slices because it was so greasy. Fancy $15+ single serving pies should not be dripping. They just shouldn't be. While ours were basically ok, I noticed several other tables with over-done pizzas, burnt bottoms (like black). Look, the food is not the worst. But it could be SO much better.
Stella Barra never disappoints. Pizza is spot on and the calamari is tender and crispy. Best feature for us is that the kids get to make their own pizzas and the counter with the kitchen crew. Always a treat.
I always enjoy the pizzas. We had excellent service. Server made some recommendations on draft beers. She brought samples for us to try. We also ordered the brussel sprouts- slightly burned.
To bad Sunday August 5 AC wasn’t working but the food was great as usually
Got seated right away. The waiter was outstanding. The food was delicious!
We love it here! We come at least once a week. The pizza is amazing, the kid-friendly options are a big hit with the kids. The servers are always on top of it and taking care of you. We are never disappointed when we come.
Food was great, ambience and service was perfect!
Stella Barra was good, but nothing special. Food was good, service was fair. Extremely loud and dark ambience, which is somewhat odd for a family and kid friendly place.
Quaint place, great food! I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the lighting is perfect for nice dinning!
Excellent weekend brunch- love the staff (Carissa, Stella, Alex, Joellen, Dana, Chris, Tom)- always wonderful service!
The pizza was delicious. “Light” pizza, if pizza can ever be called light. Didn’t come out feeling so full to busting. I purposely saved a few slices so I could re-experience the taste again later in the week! We sat out side, it was a not-too-hot summer evening. Very nice. My only comment is to suggest coasters under the glasses when placing them upside down on the outside table. (or don’t place glasses on the outside tables at all; wait until the table is seated)
Pizza was barely edible. The crust tasted like the one we get from Trader Joe’s. The sauce was just as bad. The toppings were sparse. The pizza was over priced for the value of the pizza served. Go somewhere else.
The food was absolutely amazing and even better fresh than when we had it delivered. The dining experience not as much. Took many many minutes to be greeted and given water. Service was unnattentive and slow. The music was excellent 90s hip hop but it was just a tad to loud for a dining experience.
Would definitely return though.
Not really best choice of music for weekend brunch...
Fun atmosphere, delicious food!
Made a reservation and it was a perfect summer day - but cool by Washington standards so we ate outside. Very relaxing. Sausage and fennel pizza was great and we got the brussel sprouts as an appetizer - mmmm. Very relaxing. Oh and the "Surrender Dorothy" beer from the close by 7-Locks Brewery made me happy to help out a local brewery though there were other good choices on the menu.
Our server was awesome, I really wish I could remember her name! I usually come with the hubby and 2 kiddos. But this time I went for Sunday bfast for my best friends bday. We were there before the rush so we got to choose our seats! Food was great per usual, service was fast and attentive but not over bearing. Got a bloody maria for my self and my friend got a variety lol. Drinks were on point. We did sit outside so the noise level wasnt bad but its what you should expect when you go to a place thats poppin. It was also my friends first time and she loved it!
Service was pathetic. Had to flag down staff constantly.
This is a great restaurant with a consistently high quality buffet in a relaxing, casual setting. My happy place on Sunday mornings...
Enjoyed our furat trip to SB. The Italian salad was wonderful as were the house brined olives. The spicy salume burrata pizza was a hit but the mushroom white fell short of my hopes and didn't agree with my palette at all. It must be a matter of taste. I will definitely be back but won't order the mushroom pizza again.
Loved Father’s Day brunch
Usually the brunch at SB is good but not today. Made a reservation on open table, showed up DID NOT get my points, wtf? On the reservation we made a note it was my daughters birthday and when called the hostess told me they will bring a cookie and ice ream but that NEVER happened - so much for a nice experience. Food quality was good but they ran out of many items and when asked where are the eggs, where is the lox and toast points mgt said we are working on it, 20 minutes later, nothing. By the time the manager said the food will be coming out I said just forget it, too late.
Mediocre food, which is hard to do with pizza. Service was awful. Had to move tables after they sat us at one where a worn out leather couch sagged so much we couldn't reach the table to eat. Then took a long time to place our order. Lost a drink order. Failed to deliver mains to the table at the same time so I was left eating 10 minutes after everyone else had finished. Plus expensive. No thanks.
Our service (outside) took forever! We ordered 2 pizza’s and were there over an hour. I have eaten her a lot and this is the first time the food wasn’t good. It was overcooked and chewy not crunchy. And why is the wine $11 a glass but $46 for the bottle? 4 glasses would be $44.
Very unimpressed last weekend!
So-o-o noisy. Service was good, food was OK. Restaurant could be cleaner.
The pizza was great, especially the one with butternut squash. I am not a big fan of their beer selection. No lagers on draft.
Pizza was excellent! Crisp, crunchy, well cooked crust. Margharita pizza sauce tasted like fresh tomatoes and not overly sweet. Prosciutto pizza with egg was divine; like Ham & eggs for breakfast. My only complaint is, it was very hot in the restaurant! Doors are left open and with the ovens going, it was never cool and comfortable in the restaurant....hot!! It was 80 outside but, 95+ inside.
