Stella Barra - North Bethesda
Our kids had a ball making their own pizzas in the back and the staff were outstanding with them. The adults cocktails and food were also excellent. We will be back.
This pizza is so tasty! It makes you not want to eat pizza anywhere else
Lively atmosphere, prompt service and good food. Will go back!
The overall mood and vibes of the spot were good. It was my sons birthday so he got to make a pizza and that was awesome!!! The food was above average. The wings were bland to me but pizza was very good. Service was ok. The bar area is crowded I noticed but I had a booth that was perfect! I would go back! Good times
One of only handful delectable brunches in area. Still love the salmon toast (& I add guac), breaded mac & cheese, sausage home fries... I like how the egg white changed to a fritata because the egg white & kale was quite bland before. Spoons for yogurt parfait could have had more attention (only one left and was dirty when I needed it). Can we make the chicken sausage & french toast less dry?
Pizza dinner is very good but wings are messy.
Stella Barra was great. We started with Tomato Soup and Brussels Sprouts. Delicious. Then we shared a half and half, thin crust pizza. All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience.
Long wait time for food with no explanation. To go order was wrong
Our waitress was good. The non- pizza food we ordered came out almost immediately. However, the pizzas took about 40 minutes to arrive at our table. Something was not right with the pizza making line up. We sat close by and watched them hoping for our pizzas to come out. The man handling the dough looked confused and moved at a snail’s pace. The other two men on the line were chatting a lot. Upshot was that the pizza production was ridiculously slow. The table next to us had elderly people in wheelchairs as part of their party. The wait got too long for them and when their pizzas finally came out they got them to go. When our pizza arrived it was a tad more bland than usual. A pinch of salt helped. The dough man was replaced in the line up after the table next to us complained. But he returned and yelled some stuff at his replacement, clearly not happy. The only drama at a restaurant should be happening within the conversations at the tables among the customers. We should not witness drama among the workers at a restaurant. This kind of evening is really unacceptable. Stella Barra - please do better.
Found hair in my food, no management came by. Wings were good, margharita pizza was just ok
Food and drinks were great and our server Chris was very friendly and helpful despite having a lot of other tables to look after.
Server did a good job considering how understaffed they were on a holiday weekend
The pizza was delicious, service was excellent, but it was a little noisy.
Stella Barra was delicious. Chilled spot, sevrice was good amd pizza was bomb!!!! Kale salad!?! Was good too.
I have only been for brunch but it’s never a let down. Every time we have family or friends in town Stella Barra is our go to for Sunday brunch. The cocktails are always well made, the food is fantastic. We can’t ask for more!
We had a reservation which we were ~5 mins early for but were seated about 20mins after our time. Once seated we had to wait again for 15 minutes before we were even asked for our drink orders. Those took a while and it was frustrating because it seemed like staff was just chilling around socializing with each other, the bar tender had plenty of time. The other tables in our section had a similar experience. When we got our app it was about half the size of the other calamari orders we had seen go past us and served on a small plate. We got our food an hour after being seated. The pizza was undercooked so I think they just forgot about us. Sever did nothing to offer reparations for several let downs throughout the experience. We are pretty calm and patient people but this almost ruined our night. For the prices this service should be at least decent. We will likely not return.
Sat outside on a beautiful spring evening. We were seated by the hostess around the same time as two other tables next to us. All 3 tables then waited for over 10 minutes before we had to get up and ask for a server to come over just to get water to start and greet all of us! Sick of waiting we ordered everything at once so she wouldn’t have to come back. Sticking with the slow theme, appetizers came out slowly and at different times, finally got my glass of wine well into the second appetizer (and my friends margarita also served at a different time), then when pizzas came out 1 was incorrect (server put in the wrong one and couldn’t remember what we had ordered and had to ask to get it corrected) and had to be sent back for the right one to then be made..and wait for it. Overall service was very off but food was delicious (especially the brussel sprouts).
The food was good! The service just seemed way too relaxed and slow, often needing to flag someone down instead of them checking I on us. After 15 mins, someone finally stopped by the table, and after 35 mins, we were finally able to order our food. Maybe ok for others, but with two hangry children, we needed something more. That being said, the waiter was super nice and apologetic for the delays... they just didn’t seem to have a way to solve them. I would still go back and give it another try. Food was very good.
Great atmosphere, pretty good food but overpriced and the service needs some work.
The buffet brunch was delish! I looked online ahead of time and was happy to see a good variety of meaty and veggie options available. I do wish the shukshuka’s eggs were poached and not cooked all the way through. How that would ever be possible on a buffet with a warming pan is beyond me. So maybe just leave it off. Great service, cool atmosphere, family friendly for the most part. Just wish there had been a changing table in the men’s room.
The pizza was, at best, mediocre; the Brussels sprouts appetizer burned and greasy; and the prices far too high, especially the wine. Coupled with uncommonly bad service, this is a place to avoid wasting any of your precious time or money
Nice place. Would highly recommend the brunch - everything you would want in a brunch.
The pizza at Stella Barra is good but certainly not the best ever. I think the price for the pizza is too high. The brunch at Stella Barra is spectacular! I would highly recommend having brunch here. My service at brunch is always great however, when my family and I came in later for pizza the service was subpar. Our waiter was not attentive and even forgot to put in one of our pizza orders. If I am craving pizza, I will go elsewhere but I will be back repeatedly for brunch.
The occasion was my wife’s birthday, she really enjoyed the food and the service
The brunch buffet is super yummy!
Honestly, we have rarely been disappointed here. The rare occasion that we are is usually a complete fluke. Regardless, it is handled and dealt with on levels far above and beyond expectation. The most recent meal was taking the family and extended family out to brunch after my son’s confirmation. Everything from the reservation to the service was wonderful. Even though this is technically a chain restaurant, it has this great cozy neighborhood vibe to it. Several of the servers have been there for years, at least one has been there since it opened. People come with their dogs - several who we know and love. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. What makes restaurants like this special is the more the people get to know you, the easier things become. Our server knew that I love the potato chips and dip. She also knows I’m a member of the mobile club (if you’re not, I highly recommend doing it. Nothing lost, but freebies gained. You receive one text every other week or so with a free appetizer, salad, or dessert). Anyway, the potato chips were the mobile club special, so she knows that I almost always take advantage unless it’s something I know that I won’t like. At any rate, she asked if I was going to be taking advantage of it, but knowing that I would be back hopefully soon, i declined because after the brunch (seriously, best deal in town), I’m pretty much done eating for at least the rest of the day! Point being, employee retention is a sign of good management and usually either produces excellent employees and/or keeps them. Stella Barra is a perfect example of that!
Their pizzas are absolutely to die for. It does get a bit loud which can be fun but trying to have a conversation with my 70 year old mother was a struggle. Still highly recommend, though!
A great night out with someone special. Good quality ingredients makes their dishes really stand out and taste great.
Service was attentive and polite. Great job balancing our needs and our privacy.
My only wish would be for a larger dessert variety.
The pizza and salads were terrific! Our server brought us ice, for our drinks several times because the restaurant was very hot. When the weather is warm, Spring great combinations and classic Margherita is perfect.
We had a great time! If you're looking for something other than pizza, this is not the place for you. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun
Stella Barra is reliable -- consistently very good and the service always is excellent. We are regulars !
We definitely enjoyed one another, our evening was filled with laughter. Would be mindful that the pizza oven does generate smoke which can impact the table closest to the pizza oven. And we did not appreciate that when we asked for lemon drop shots that a top shelf liquor was used without first asking permission.
We had one major issue: despite having a reservation, the restaurant was hosting a large party at the same time, which meant we had no table available when we arrived, so the staff (all very nice) sat us in the neighboring diner they own, Summer House. That was ok -- the staff made sure to attend to us. But the large party they were hosting meant the kids "make your own pizza" option wasn't available, and then the peppers for my pizza weren't available, as well as one of the house cocktails. It became a bit of a joke with my wife -- what DO they have for us at this point?! Again, the food we ordered was excellent, the server very good, but we wish we had done this some other night. If the restaurant is going to host a party so big that they can't fully handle other guests, they shouldn't take reservations.
Sunday’s brunch buffet was amazing! Lots of great options. Will definitely return.
I've been to stella a few times and I firmly believe they need to do better at training serves and bus boys. They seem to lack communication skills. The bus boys/server would take things off the table without communicating and asking if we are done using it. Very rude
First time visiting and it blew me away! The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff was wonderful! Delicious food and great service!
Made a reservation last minute on Sunday. Really good buffet for $20 & awesome bloody mary for $5. Buffet offers a great variety with something for everyone. Lively atmosphere located in beautiful Pike & Rose & plenty of parking in garage for only $1. (I think you get the first two hours free to park.) Pike & Rose is such a nice place to shop & dine.
Food was fresh and delicious! Burrata was creamy and pizza sauce is amazing. Very nice place for a drink and dinner with friends.
Made reservation and got seated quickly on busy Friday night. Attentive service and chill atmosphere. We love the crispy brussel sprouts and super thin pizzas. Kids meals are on fun trays. Kid meatballs were a bit spicy, but everything else was great!
Sunday brunch was excellent. The service was good - we were served promptly and got drinks quickly. The food on the brunch buffet was great and kept coming out hot with a lot of turnover (nothing sitting for long periods of time). I wasn't a fan of the decor of the room - but that's not going to stop me from returning. I'll definitely be back.
