I think the lamb lollipops @stroubes have permanently altered my brain chemistry 🫨 This downtown Baton Rouge restaurant has been on my list forever, and I’m so glad I finally got to try their steaks and their lamb lollipops ($18). We were placed in a high backed booth where our only view was 3 other booth diners along the wall And the bathroom. It took literally 20 minutes get water - we had to stop a passing waitress to grab someone. Our drink order was taken and it took Another 20 minutes to get that - but at least she brought water. We ordered our meal at drink Order delivery and ordered second drinks at That time. We were delivered the meal- never checked on again and was finished before Second drinks were delivered ( after the bar was clear out and we went to it to cancel Our drinks since we were finished. Waitress brought the check and drinks with an excuse that she was rushing them in the back. No Way. An over $200 meal for 2 with horrible Service. We will never return.

The staff that was working did a great job, but they were well understaffed compared to normal. We like Stroube's and we return but it's hard to blame the staff for being under supported.

Cocktail service was slow because there was only 1 bartender working a packed restaurant on a Thursday evening before a concert. Food service was not up to par with a waitress who we had to flag down often. Medium steak was undercooked. Best part was my salad.

Steaks and sides were great- sides could have been a bit warmer. Steak couldn’t have been done any more perfect for us. Service was slow. The restaurant was pretty empty, saw plenty of servers walking around, however ours was not attentive at all and barely saw them. A different server even brought us our food when I’m pretty sure ours had no other tables that I saw. We got the Brie appetizer. It was gooey but not very warm , seemed like it could have been baked longer, the outside breading/crescent looked barely cooked.

Everything was great, including the food and service. Just a hint though, allow extra time to find parking, as that can be a bit of a challenge...but well worth it!

We went for the symphony pre fixe menu. My reservation was at 5:45 and the show started at 7:30 so we were able to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The complimentary champagne was a nice touch. The roses for females was a sweet added touch as well as the chocolate wrapped in sheet music. I ordered the steak Diane and my friend had the redfish. We both enjoyed our meals and finished our plates. The dessert was good, not too sweet and great portion size
