The Black Horse in the village of Fulmer is nestled between Gerrards Cross and Pinewood Studios. The 17th Century craftsman’s cottage has gradually been extended to form a charming country pub full of nooks and crannies. Under new ownership, The Black Horse has recently undergone extensive refurbishment both inside and out, creating one of the nicest pub environments in the area.

Food is our passion and we will never compromise on quality. We are proud of our seasonally changing menus, simple, yet exciting using the finest ingredients and locally sourced produce. Certain dishes have become specialities such as our sticky ribs and homemade 8oz burgers. Our beef has been aged for a minimum of 35 days and the roast beef served on Sundays is unrivalled. Crispy beer battered fish and specials such as sea bass, turbot and whole lobster, is caught in the morning and delivered fresh to us on the same day.

Lovely lunch. Service was great and roast was very good. They also accommodated our friends dog. I had asked for somewhere where there wasn’t much foot traffic. Thank you Black Horse

I had prawn cocktail which I’ve had before loads prawns but far too much lettuce swimming in sauce no bread not the presentation I’ve had before my friends soup was delicious she said but a bit sparse on bread A bit overpriced we thought nice coffee Very pleasant staff

Attractive pub with good outside seating and a comfortable indoor dining area. The service on our visit was exceptional, such a pleasant lady. Food mixed - very good scampi and chips, but vegetarian wellington not great (maybe not our thing) Nice desserts. Very good value for money.

Once we were.seated inside (which took an age!) our waitress was fabulous. Mixed ratings from my companions regarding food. For myself my ceasar salad topped with chicken was delicious, coffee and dessert was amazing.

On the evening we were there they had an amazing singer, however she was so annoyingly loud that instead of background music it felt like you were at her concert. No one could hear anyone else speak at all. The service was appalling and the food very average. This pub used to be fabulous however has gone down hill so much. Such a shame.

Not great sadly. The food was overpriced and the restaurant was empty on a Friday night. There was zero atmosphere. Shame this was great when Kay and Brendon ran it.

Food was lovely, visited on Mother’s Day Sunday. Would have liked more options on the menu but overall food was really nice, wasn’t too busy or loud!
