Great quality food .not your average pub menu. Lovely selection of quality freshly prepared meals . I like the table booking system 15minutes slots . The ales are first class . The service is efficient. Size of meals above average . I like the rule no children under 14years . One can relax.

We went for Sunday Lunch. The Sunday lunch menue was extensive three courses for £15.95. The food was excellent, great table service lots of waiting on staff all well trained. Would recommend a visit but you must book a few weeks in advance we were caught out a couple of times when trying to book a week in advance.

Been to The Rag on many occasions never been disappointed,excellent food and great service if I had one gripe it would be it was very warm in the restaurant.

Had a midweek lunch of halibut in chive sauce, absolutely gorgeous. Never had halibut before but I will definitely have it again. My husband had smoked haddock in a cheese sauce with poached egg, for the third time, and he is someone who thinks fish only comes in batter! The other two people in our party had roast salmon, and liver and bacon. We all had puds too. Sticky toffee, treacle sponge. And almond tarts. Plus drinks, all for around £60. Can't fault value for money and food is really really good. Can't wait to go back.

Last Friday was my first visit to the Rag but it won't be my last . It was everything people say it is. The food service and cleanleness are firstclas

The food is excellent. Service is always very good. Value for money for all meals. Will return as it is one of our favourite eating places.

Enjoyed excellent lunch with friends. Choice was varied and very tempting. We all had different main courses and all were very good quality, plentiful and with separate fresh vegetables which we all prefer rather than a crammed plate. The staff were generally attentive and efficient if not particularly friendly. The prices at lunchtime are more than competitive for the quality and with this in mind we were not surprised the restaurant was very busy.

I went to the Rag last Wednesday with two friends for a lunchtime meal. The food was fabulous and really couldn't be faulted. The place is clean, attractive and has lovely views from the windows. Our welcome on entry was lukewarm, to say the least, with the member of staff behind the bar, where you book in, fussing with bottles and tidying up for several minutes before welcoming us and checking we were booked in. She took our drink orders and said our table was ready and whisked us in whether we were ready or not. I rather think the place is so popular and difficult to get into the staff almost feel they are doing you a favour by serving you. I understand they are busy but they don't really make it special for you; however, the food more than compensates!
