We went for our anniversary date, and our waiter Kareem was absolutely amazing from start until we literally where on our way out the door. His conversation and professionalism while still being able to have fun doing his job was outstanding. The restaurant manager was very professional & the ambience/cleanliness of everything was top notch. The food was AMAZING. Best New York strip I’ve ever had. The desserts are 10/10. Will definitely be going back!
Used to be our favorite go to place. Service was horrible, food was extremely delayed. Waiter never acknowledged the delay and the manager blamed poor service and food on a wedding happening in the hotel. One of the signature dishes their chicken came out dry and the bartender spilled a drink all over the back of my shirt.
Karim was an amazing server. Food was exceptional as always. Will be back soon.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff suggestions were helpful. Food was delicious. Will be back.
Took very long to order. Server wasn’t very attentive, think he had too many tables. My order also wasn’t done correctly.
Burgers where really good!
Everything we ate was excellent. The most minor of nits would be the tarragon flavor of the aioli that came with the perfectly cooked calamari was a bit overpowering and the bananarama pudding was a bit too crunchy and could've used more booze to balance its sweetness.
A bit pricey, but since we were both completely satisfied and it was a wonderful evening, the cost was ultimately worth it.
The service was very attentive and friendly. We definitely had to speak with a raised voice.
The food was fantastic, but the service was better.
My husband and I have eaten here a number of times. The deviled eggs were great, but the rest of the meal was mixed. I had salmon, which was excellent. My husband had the pork chop. He's had it before and loved it. This time it was overcooked. They offered to remake it, but then we would've had a very lopsided meal, so he said no. This is not the first time we've had a problem with a dish, but decided to give them another try. For the prices they charge for main courses, they really should do better.
We found this gem just off Dupont Circle last year. We had to go back. It is pricey -- any diner should know that in advance. But the food, drink -- and most especially, the service -- are peerless. Highly recommend for that special night of dining.
Food was immaculately prepared, and interesting without being showy. Nice ambiance.
Great brunch food, superlative attention, somewhat pricey.
Even though the dinning room isn't that large, the noise level is. My friend and I had to talk loud in order to hear ourselves.
The brunch meal we had was good--nothing overly special or pretentious. The blueberry cobbler was delicious with just enough sweetness not to overpower the ice cream.
One complaint I did have is the $5 charge for a cup of coffee. Not even Starbucks charges that much for plain decaf.
Unfortunately, our experience wasn't as good as we expected.
Coffee and mimosas were awful, no discussion about that. Service was slow, but they apologized for that, so at least they acknowledge it, and although the food didn't taste bad (well there was lots of cream and bacon!) the avocado toast had hardly any avocado on it.
So, all in all, poor. I would not recommend it.
We picked this restaurant for the ambiance. It's nice to have a quiet place to eat amidst all the boisterous, trendy eateries that overpopulate DC. The mussels were very good, my husband had the steak and it was excellent and cooked perfectly. I had fish and it was also excellent and cooked perfectly. Our server maintained the perfect level of professionalism and attentiveness.
The food...It was delicious. I asked the server about my 3 choices and she said those are her top picks so I confirmed those with confidence. I chose the Lightly Smoked Trout which was served in two pieces and tasted great. It balanced well with the pickled and non pickled beets. Next came the Pan Seared Branzino. The fennel and potato definitely added to the dish and all together made for a broth that I wanted to scoop out with a spoon. And the fish was great with it-though I didn't think the whole grape tomatoes added much. Last was the Panna Cotta. Let me tell you I really appreciated that the berries were macerated-I don't like a great dessert where the berries have just been thrown on. I ate every bite of every dish and the only downside is that it was 'just enough'. I wasn't full, just satisfied.
A little noisier than I would have liked but the food was incredible, drinks devine and the service was beyond my expectations. 13/10 would recommend.
The Riggsby is a throw back to the old supper clubs, with retro décor and a relaxed vibe. We were there during restaurant week and ordered off the restaurant week menu. The food was good to excellent with my wife's salad better than the smoked trout with beats for appetizers. The branzino my wife ordered was very well prepared, as was the pappardelle, the latter being a bit bland. The deserts are worth ordering. Service was attentive throughout without rushing us. The only draw back was our belated discovery that we were seated under one of the air conditioning vents, which made us a little cooler than comfortable and also cooled off the food rapidly. Overall, a very positive experience.
Dynamite restaurant - great service, absolutely beautiful decor and very good food. Going there during Restaurant Week is probably too hectic of a time to go - the two other times I've been there were better. But this is a wonderful spot - guaranteed solid & elegant restaurant experience.
Went for Restaurant week. We had the trout appetizer, Roast Beef Sandwich with au jus, Cobb salad, shakshuka and Panna Cotta dessert. Food was delicious. Really like that you could switch a course for the signature drink , a delicious chocolate margarita. Wait staff was great but the time it took to get courses was long. Will go again.
I took a staff member for a treat and was worried food might not hold up during Restaurant week but having the RW menu (Loved the gazpacho!) and the regular menu was ideal.
Service outstanding - bar tender very graciously brought a more familiar martini (lemon drop) to substitute for the Nick and Nora ordered by my guest.
The true test of an excellent experience - my guest organized a brunch at the Riggsby the following weekend and reported back that the deviled eggs and lamb hash were devine!
Nice setting and delicious food! Come here when you're willing to bust your wallet a bit and you'll have a great time with cocktails and food.
Sam the server was great. Food terrific. Surprisingly quiet - made it the perfect place for a work conversation.
Wine by the glass is way too expensive.
We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Our server Kareem was wonderful.
We ordered 3 different dishes for lunch, and all were excellent. Wonderful food, ambiance, and service. Recommended!
Joe B. was the best waiter, very knowledgeable and made the experience that much better.
Great old school setting for a fun quick brunch. Service was great!
Kamal and Joe were awesome
Overall, Riggsby is a fun place with an old school vibe. They seem to make an effort for the diners to enjoy themselves. The food is very good, but not transcendent. I had the trout (which was just OK) and the lamb chop, which was great -- loved the use of harissa. My companion had the carpaccio -- which he raved about all night -- and the salmon, which he liked just fine. For dessert I had the strawberry shortcake, which was good, but making it tableside seemed unnecessary. Service was very friendly and instructive.
It was our first time at Riggsby, and were delighted with superb food and excellent service.
I ordered the wrong thing, but it should have been better. I did not like the breakfast burrito.
Also, a simple basket of pastries or bread are usually de rigueur for brunch. No one offered me anything to drink besides coffee.
I love this restaurant. Have been here for dinner but this was my first time for brunch. Food was excellent and the host greeted us very warmly. Still one of my favorites.
Great lunch spot..
Great place! Really enjoyed the salmon as well as the mussels. Good wine selection
The Riggsby is exceptional. I eat here frequently and they make it a perfect experience every time. Can’t recommend enough. Super fun bar too.
My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend and made a reservation here. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter went to check to see if they had it. It took awhile so he brought a free appetizer for making us wait. They ended up not having it so we just ordered cocktails. They comped our cocktails because they felt bad that they didn’t have the wine. This is how you do customer service! It was unnecessary, but so appreciated and makes us want to tell our friends to visit when they’re in town! Go check this place out! The food was great, the service impeccable, and in a great location. My only complaint was that the AC was blowing right on me and I was freezing but a different table likely would have remedied that.
Amazing service, staff, and meal. Wonderful place tucked away in Nation’s Capital
The menu was not very big, just simple things that one can have at home. Coffee too weak for the price we paid.
The brunch menu is very misleading. We thought that the price for champagne for the mimosas was as listed on the menu, turned out there was a different menu that no one bothered to show us that had the actual price!? The waiter was very rude about it and we realized later that he did that on purpose to get us to spend way more than we thought we were spending!!
Really good food with Awesome service! Very unique decor that made the ambiance really cool. If you get the chance please go!
