Opened by Denver native and first generation Chinese Chef Tommy Lee, Hop Alley is a modern, regional Chinese restaurant inspired by traditional flavors, woks, wood fire and raucous energy. Located in the RINO arts district, this former soy sauce factory bridges the gap between the original Chinatown of the 1880s and the modern Denver dining scene. Hop Alley has been highly decorated in it's 10 year run: Michelin Bib Gourmand (2023, 2024, 2025), Michelin Exceptional Cocktails Award 2025, James Beard Semi-Finalist Outstanding Wine and Beverage 2025, James Beard Semi-Finalist Best Chef Mountain Region 2020The Chef's Counter at Hop Alley also hosts Petit Chelou, a residency by award winning L.A. chef, Douglas Rankin. Chef Rankin's creative and exacting neo-bistro cuisine is influenced by his time as a chef for José Andres, Ludo Lefebvre and as chef/owner of Bar Chelou in Pasadena, CA.
