Opening October 29!Aster is the new name for the restaurant formerly known as Edgewood: a modern French steakhouse named for the wild aster that blooms across the Hudson Valley each fall. The setting is the landmark: the 1873 Edgewood Mansion at Hutton Brickyards, the riverfront yard whose bricks helped build the Empire State Building. Inside, an intimate, light-filled room with an oak bar, vintage-meets-modern furnishings, and long views of the grounds; fireplaces carry the cold months.Executive Chef Edward Harder, a Le Cordon Bleu graduate, brings Hudson Valley seasonality to a classic steakhouse menu: prime cuts, and French classics, with wine and cocktails to match the room's celebratory spirit. The Bistro at Aster offers a relaxed, cocktail-forward evening Thursday through Saturday, 5 to 9pm, no reservation required. Sunday brunch, 11am to 2:30pm.
