We give chefs Jake Wragg and Richard Hart free rein to create dishes which delight guests from near and far. Allowing them to showcase their creativity and talent, the ever evolving menu swings with the seasons and uses local Norfolk produce from the myriad of farmers, fishermen and other producers on our rural doorstep.The pub itself we describe as quintessentially English, set on the edge on an expansive village green in beautiful Aldborough. Don't be surprised to be watching the cricket when a group of Morris Dancers show up. Yes it happens! Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict.In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. Rocky Bottoms believes in enjoying the simpler things in life!

    Been to Gibsons twice, both times whilst on a family holiday in successive years. This is a true hidden gem - incredible food, great service, faultless. We first visited in July 2025 and visited again July 2026 in the hopes it would still be as good, and it was even better a year later. Highly recommend this place - great with kids, and dog friendly too. Whole family agree Gibsons serve the best crispy squid any of us have ever had!

    I always enjoy eating at Marlings because I love the calm atmosphere at lunchtime, the attractive decor, the outdoor tables and the staff are always helpful. The food varies, but on this occasion it was excellent. Each of us chose a different dish and all were very good. Mine was the fish and chips and the fish was the best I had eaten in years!
