MEAT is a locally owned smokehouse in the heart of Old Strathcona, serving authentic Texas-style BBQ built on quality meats, savoury sides, homemade sauces, and a casual, welcoming room to settle in. Brisket, beer, and bourbon - keeping it simple and doing it well. Our brisket starts with Benchmark Angus beef, a family-run Alberta ranch that’s been raising free-range, humanely treated, and hormone-free cattle for nearly 100 years. From there, it spends hours in our Ole Hickory smoker, fired up nearly 24/7, taking on rich cherry and hickory smoke alongside ribs, pork, chicken, and sausage. Behind the bar, you’ll find a thoughtfully curated bourbon and whisky list, from trusted favourites to harder-to-find bottles. We keep things straightforward: grab a seat at our long communal tables, order meats by the pound, sides by the size, and dig in. BBQ is meant to be shared.
