Bar Vendetta distinguishes itself in a space that had previously been a fairly iconic restaurant, The Black Hoof, with a beautiful (and imposing) Douglas fir ‘glass canopy’ and a completely different, 70s colour scheme, modelled (very loosely) on Jen's teen basement bedroom in Scarborough. Nothing says 70s like brown, orange and cream! We didn’t want it to scream ‘Italian restaurant’ because frankly it’s only Italian-ish, using the philosophies of Italian cooking with locally available ingredients, a strong devotion to seasonality, and all pastas made in house. The sort of secret treehouse-feeling back patio is hugely popular in the summer, but we think of it as the perfect restaurant for a colder evening, cozy for tucking into a beautiful plate of pasta, with one of your favourite songs playing while you have a very nice Italian red.

Very attentive. Very organized. Very kind. The zucchini frittes and the spicy vodka rigatoni were some of the tables faves, though everything ordered was exceptional. Can’t wait to come again and try the rest of the items on the menu!

Went to Sara for dinner this evening. We enjoyed some cocktails and the tasting menu. Everything was amazing - the food, the service and the vibe of the restaurant was top tier. They were even able to accommodate a pescatarian diet! We are truly impressed and we definitely look forward to our next visit!
