The food was nice and everything about the experience was good. Being winter it was quiet and we almost had the restaurant to ourselves. Great views over the historic site added to the atmosphere

The ambiance of this place is top notch!! Stunning outlook from dining area over the river and up the valley. Service is exceptional from the moment you walk in very personal. Our meals were delicious cooked perfectly to our liking and filling (you can’t go to a steakhouse & not get the steak!!) highly recommend the Porterhouse and hubby recommends the Scotch fillet🤤🤤

A fantastic authentic Irish pub. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with excellent live music that perfectly complements the traditional surroundings. The food is hearty, well-prepared, and full of flavour, while the pricing offers outstanding value for money. It's the kind of place that feels genuine rather than manufactured, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the experience. Without a doubt, this has become my new favourite pub in Hobart

A beautiful, traditional dining venue coupled with superb, personal service. Lisa was knowledgeable and professional and displayed a keen sense of her family's history. The Hangar Steak was tender and very tasty and my wife assured me of the same with the Mushroom Fettuccine. Delicious Pooley wines, with the Syrah a must. Thanks Buscombe's...a great day!

The meal of fish tacos for entree and lamb shank for my main, was amazing. I love fish tacos and these were great. Lamb shank was juicy and tender, as it should, combined with the gravy mash, with fresh al dente vegetables. What a winner! Previous meal of duck confit was beautifully cooked, with mouth watering crispy skin. My favourite entree was baked potato with chorizo in an infused oil served in a hot iron pan, very unique. Excellent choice of dishes and a local wine list to complement the food. I would also try the local range of teas available. The functional fire place within the historic setting, adds to the ambience.
