With full table service, we pride ourselves on delivering a friendly yet professional experience, ensuring every guest feels well looked after from the moment they arrive.We are passionate about serving excellent quality produce, all prepared and cooked onsite, and brought directly to your table with care. Our menu reflects this and is thoughtfully put together using as many locally sourced and artisan ingredients as possible. By working closely with producers on our doorstep, we aim to showcase the very best of what the region has to offer while ensuring there is something to suit every taste.The Dining Room is open daily from midday until 9pm, offering plenty of time to relax and enjoy your meal, with the exception of Sundays when we close earlier at 4pm.

Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross, and later won acclaim for his writing. Nestling in the heart of the beautiful Kentish Weald-the Garden of England, the Star and Eagle Hotel is located in the village of Goudhurst. Standing over 400ft above sea level, there are outstanding views of the surrounding orchards and hop gardens for which the area is renowned. Dating back to the 14th century, the Star and Eagle has played a significant role in the local history, and was once reputed to have been an ancient monastery. Relics of the vaulted stonework of the period are still visible in some parts of the building. During the 18th century the Inn became the headquarters of the "Hawkhurst Gang", who robbed and terrorised the surrounding district, and planned smuggling raids. Today, behind its attractive timbered gables, the Star and Eagle offers all the comfort and facilities of a 20th century hotel with the charm and atmosphere of a bygone era. Open throughout the year, the Star and Eagle is less than three miles off the main A21 road with easy access.

We specialise in pho, the Vietnamese noodle soup, and also serve delicious curries, rice dishes, wok-fried noodles and healthy salads, too. We also have loads of starters that are perfect for sharing with friends and family. Over a third of our menu is vegan, and nearly all of it is gluten-free, so we are a great destination for people who follow those particular diets. We are accredited by Coeliac UK.
