We are located in a 1795 Colonial with small dining rooms, fireplaces and beautiful Vermont ambience. Our success over 33 years can be attributed to consistently excellent food. As your chef, I cook every meal and oversee every aspect of our kitchen. We specialize in American Contemporary with a focus on the highest quality, local Vermont ingredients. Our main dishes always include premium grass fed beef, duck two ways, double thick pork chop, rack of lamb, cedar planked salmon, jumbo sea scallops and vegan specials. Desserts are made in house daily by Leslie and are both unique and delicious. Our service is directed by Leslie, my wife. She greets every guest and is constantly monitoring the dining experience. We like to think we are the total dining experience as evidenced by our being one of the highest graded restaurant in New England on Open Table (2017-2019)

Our historic inn and two restaurants in southern Vermont offer on-site dining year-round and feature locally-sourced ingredients prepared by food-loving professionals to create timeless, hearty dishes that will please any palate.The Phelps Barn, originally a carriage house for guests' horses, provides a unique and rustic VT dining experience. Even the hayloft has been repurposed and renovated, providing an elevated seating area as well as our 8-tap bar. It is a fast pace restaurant with live music usually scheduled on the weekends.If you are looking for a quieter space to have dinner or celebrate a special occasion, we would recommend our 1801 Tavern located inside the Main Inn. This historic space provides a cozy and elevated dining atmosphere. Within the 1801 Tavern you’ll find our recently renovated Pine Room Bar with a working fireplace.

Located atop a Vermont hillside surrounded by nature, Esmeralda is Rondeau and Calderón’s country residence where guests come together for shared culinary experiences that merge local and Latin American flavors, sounds and culture.Each month during the Summer and Fall, Esmeralda hosts a weeklong series of events with menus featuring rustic takes on Peruvian classics as well as an all-day feast centered around the pachamanca, the ancient method of cooking in the ground. Dinners are served outdoors on the lawn and patio, as weather permits, or inside the dining room. Guests are encouraged to mingle over pisco sours while jazz plays from the speakers, and take in the stars around the fire pit after the meal. An evening at Esmeralda is an experience beyond the meal itself — it’s a dinner party every night.
