The Hackney is located in a beautifully restored former bank building dating from the 1920's. Inside its elegant main hall Chef Jamie Davis's (James Beard Finalist Best Chef in the Southeast 2024) team serve a Southern Eclectic fine dining, farm to table, ever changing menu. The emphasis is on locally sourced seafood and seasonal produce. The Hackney also features a stunning bar showcasing an innovative range of house-made cocktails and a carefully curated wine list.     Great service, a menu with numerous options, and the entrees and deserts were delicious! The noise level is quite high, but tolerable and energetic. We enjoyed it!

    We had family from the West Coast visiting and wanted to have a special evening. From the fabulous cocktails (Blackberry old fashioned, Washington Sunset, and the Blueberry espresso martini). Our nephew and his wife said it was the best meal they’ve ever had! He had the soft shell crab and his wife had the Black Sea Bass, as did I, my husband had oysters and my sister in law had the Filet Mignon. All of the dishes were superb. The Chilled Peach soup was amazing as were the desserts. The Hackney staff and Chef Jamie made it even more special by celebrating my birthday too (I still don’t know who told them)! What a terrific night!

    Great time with our new friends. They always want to go to Main and Mill since we introduced them to your restaurant. The drinks are always exceptional and food is always excellent. Love the music played in restaurant as it brings back good memories. Service and greetings at front desk are always smiling and courteous. We just wish there would be more changes on the menu as we go often to Main and Mill.

    The food was exceptional - we had the oracle and the specialty burger with homemade garlic and Parmesan chips. It was soo good. Mac our waitress was polite and attentive. We highly recommend Proof - we are never disappointed.

    We’ve visited this establishment before . Each time was excellent, but they’ve ‘upped’ their game. Redecorated. New Menu. The chef is Amazing , and the service / staff very attentive. A great evening . Well worth a visit , even from Chesapeake.
