We are so lucky to have this new place to spend a wonderful evening. It is the most beautiful venue and wonderfully private. Wines and food are second to none and its all designed to be working with the environment with the highest quality food produced virtually on the doorstep produced and served by people who obviously really care.

Excellent starters - shared the Squid (delicious) and whitebait between four. Oxfordshire Rump of lamb was plentiful and tasted of lamb, a rarity these days. Sea bass also enjoyed. Chocolate mouse was rich, but could have been presented better. overall a very good meal. Shame it was so quiet. We chose to eat in the bar area to get some atmosphere, as restaurant was empty. Friendly service.

Great Village Pub with higher than average quality of food and excellent service from the team. Felt like the staff genuinely wanted you to have a good experiecne. Good selection of beers and its a free house so you feel like the team working there have a vested interest in delivering top service Vs a corporate chain pub. Highly reccommed for drinks / snacks as part of a hike / walk or dinner service is also great.

I have been to the restaurant a good number of times with colleagues: mostly for coffee and cake. Always we have received a warm welcome, as we did yesterday. I look forward to our next visit. Thank you.

Wonderful Sunday at The Chequers. Everything was delicious and the staff were professional and kind. Stunning setting. Most enjoyable.
