Wonderful afternoon tea, as always. Beautiful surroundings and very accommodating staff. All in all a very satisfying experience.

I have eaten many meals here and I’ve always experienced the best of food at good prices. The staff are a credit to the restaurant and a warm welcome is guaranteed to everyone who first enters. Highly recommended.

So glad they don’t have a Michelin star. It means their staff are relaxed and the food is excellent and sensibly priced.

Although at first glance the menu may appear limited the quality of the food served more than made up for this. We were a table of four who were greeted warmly and offered a choice of two equally lovely tables within the restaurant side of the pub. Our drinks order was taken promptly with the staff having an extensive knowledge of the drinks on offer, the gin we were recommended was delicious. We were given time to order, it was lovely not to feel rushed as we have experienced this in other pubs when dining. We all chose to forgo a starter for a dessert, but there was a good choice of tempting starters on the menu. We all chose a different main course and none disappointed. The food was beautifully presented, piping hot and full of flavour. The salad ingredients were vibrant and fresh, and not drowned in dressing. We had three desserts between the four of us and were given four spoons without having to ask, this was greatly appreciated as our fourth friend did decide to dig in and share the dessert. The atmosphere was quiet which was a little surprising for a Saturday night, but we ate indoors and I believe the garden was quite busy. It was perfect for us as we wanted to catch up with friends we hadn’t seen for a while. I would thoroughly recommend the food at The Fountain Inn, whilst probably mid point when it comes to pricing the quality, flavour and presentation was exceptional. We will be visiting again very soon.
