Spanish Flowers Mexican Restaurants was founded in 1979 by Mary L. Bernal. Mary, who is a Houston-area native, has been fascinated with traditional Mexican cuisine since spending her summers as a child with relatives outside of Guadalajara, Mexico. There, she spent her time learning and perfecting the authentic dishes that came to flourish and that one can continue to enjoy today at the Spanish Flowers Mexican Restaurant. This family-owned and operated restaurant has been pleasing palates and created a devoted following, providing its customers with a little taste of Mexico from the food to the atmosphere. In 2009, the arrival of the Hernandez family in coalition with Mrs. Bernal has managed to expand and nurture the dream that was born back in 1979. Together, they continue to expand on the legacy of providing Houstonians & Texan families the authentic dishes that they’ve come to love.
